TOP STORIES

If you consider yourself a collector or antique aficionado, then you may have stumbled upon the discourse surrounding the Lenox Spice Village. The original collection launched back in 1989 and consisted of 24 miniature intricately designed houses to store all of your favorite seasonings, from allspice to tarragon. Each porcelain piece was complete with beautiful pastel-colored paint and a label that indicated which spice belonged in each house. Over the last few years, the world has rediscovered this sought-after collection, and the village houses were so in demand that Lenox released a second edition. For $299, you can get your hands on a new complete set of 24—but the Lenox Spice Village resurgence reminded many collectors of another popular set Lenox released in 1995, adorned with our favorite classic Disney characters, and it might just be the next thing to hunt for if you find yourself in an antique shop. Read all about the Lenox Disney spice jars, where you might be able to find them and how much they could be worth if you own them—plus, a look at a few other valuable Lenox items that might be sitting in your attic!

The Lenox Disney spice jars are your next antique treasure

Lenox’s Disney spice jar set became available in 1995. Similar to the original Lenox Spice Village, the Lenox Disney spice jar set is made up of 24 containers, each small jar featuring an image of a beloved Disney character, with a purple, pink or blue lid. For example, Bambi is pictured on the basil jar, Ariel can be seen on the parsley jar and Snow White is featured on the cinnamon jar. Unlike the original Lenox Spice Village, Lenox has not added these back to their current lineup with a second edition—which means if you want to grab yourself a set, you’ll have to get lucky on a website like Facebook Marketplace, eBay, Etsy or at an antique or thrift shop near you.

How much are the Lenox Disney Spice jars worth?

Prices on this full set of 24 spice jars can vary, but being that this collection has been discontinued and is pretty rare, you might end up dishing out a few dollars to get your hands on it. For example, one seller on Etsy has a set of 24 jars listed for $1,499. Another seller on eBay has a set of 22 listed for $999. Yet another eBay user has their set listed for $1,250. While these prices are certainly high, there’s always the chance of scoring a good deal somewhere unexpected.

Lenox Village canisters are also a hot ticket item

With the Lenox Spice Village being such an initial hit back in 1989, it didn’t take long for the company to expand the collection to include more pieces. In 1990, Lenox introduced their village house canisters for pantry staples like flour, sugar, tea and coffee. Though they introduced a second edition version of the Lenox Village House Canisters, a set of three for $150, the original version remains sought after as each canister includes labels and more intricate designs. For example, one flour canister is on sale on Etsy for $325. On eBay, one seller has the sugar house listed for $299.50.

Whether you’re a Disney devotee, a Lenox collector or simply someone who loves the thrill of the hunt, these vintage spice jars represent the perfect blend of nostalgia, beauty and value. So the next time you’re browsing an antique shop or scrolling through online marketplaces, keep your eyes peeled—you might just discover a magical treasure that’s been waiting for you all along. Happy hunting!
