For years, when you shopped at Dollar Tree, you knew you were getting great deals: After all, every time was just a dollar! But over the past few years, shopping at Dollar Tree has gotten slightly more expensive, with items selling for anywhere from $1.25 to $7. While their deals are still great, you can rack up a decent-sized bill shopping there.

The good news: It’s possible to save even more at Dollar Tree. From using cashback apps to tracking down coupons, read on for the best ways to score save more at Dollar Tree.

Utilize your cashback apps

Today, cashback apps are a lifesaver, allowing customers to pay through the app for exclusive deals or offering the option to earn a few bucks back after your purchase. Apps like Ibotta and Fetch are just a couple of ways that you can save more at Dollar Tree.

Ibotta offers Dollar Tree shoppers exclusive coupons on certain items as well as the option of scanning your receipt for money back. While it may not be a large sum of money after each purchase, the cash does add up.

Once you’ve accumulated a total of $20 in your Ibotta account and redeemed at least one offer, you can withdraw it. You will need to wait at least 7 days after redeeming an offer to withdraw your money.

Options for withdrawal include sending the money directly to your bank account, redirecting it to a PayPal account or purchasing a digital gift card through the app.

With Fetch, you scan your Dollar Tree receipt and earn cash for doing so. As your cashback adds up, you can exchange that money for gift cards from a variety of retailers, such as Amazon or Target.

Another option is to use the TopCasback app. After downloading and creating an account, you can select “get offer” for Dollar Tree and then make an online purchase through the app. You can receive cashback, which will appear in your account a few days or a week later.

Dollar Tree does accept coupons

Most people believe they’re saving as much as they can by shopping at a Dollar Tree, but that’s not 100% true as it’s a little-known fact that Dollar Tree actually does accept coupons. While Dollar Tree doesn’t issue their own coupons, they do allow customers to use manufacturer coupons—but make sure to read the fine print first.

The stores do not accept coupons from other retailers—such as Target or Walmart—for the same items. But if the coupon comes directly from the product’s manufacturer, it’s likely Dollar Tree will allow you to use it.

Their website offers a list of restrictions, including the fact that they don’t accept photocopies of coupons and that coupons can only be used on in-store purchases.  They also only accept one coupon per item (as they are already priced fairly low). Read the full list here.

Dollar Tree also accepts manufacturer coupons you may find online, but those, too, come with rules. Customers can use up to two internet coupons in one day and they must have a valid expiration date, as well as a valid remit address for the manufacturer.

If you’re heading to your local Dollar Tree for a shopping spree, make sure to take advantage of these savings hacks for the best prices and a better shopping experience.
