Stolen Puppy Returned After Unsuspecting New Owner Gives It a Bath
When Denver woman Sunni Nucci’s home was burglarized, retrieving her stolen valuables was nowhere near her biggest concern. That’s because the thieves had taken something even more dear to her: a 10 week old puppy named Bella.
In a heartbreaking post to Facebook, Sunni said, “I don’t usually share personal things on FB, but today I lost all faith in humankind. Someone broke into my house and took everything I valued, including my 10 week old puppy. I would give them all of those things to have her back. My heart is broken beyond words. I loved her with all my heart and soul. I don’t know how I will ever get over this.”
She continued making Facebook posts, pleading with her community to please contact her with any information they might have about Bella’s whereabouts.
After almost two weeks of desperately hoping, Sunni finally got some good news. A woman called her to inform her that she had just purchased a dog she thought might be Bella. But something in the description was slightly amiss: this dog was all black, with no spots. However, when she gave her newly purchased canine friend a bath, her black paws turned purple, and she realized that she had been dyed after being stolen.

Sunni couldn’t believe it, but remained hopeful that this puppy was her Bella. Fortunately for her, the changes made to Bella’s appearance weren’t drastic enough to fool her. She said, “The minute I saw them carrying her to me, I knew it was her.” She celebrated her return with a Facebook post, which detailed how her pup had found her way home. Not only this, but she promises that even though “Bella has lost weight and has purple paws… she will be spoiled like no other dog” now that she’s back.
What a beautiful puppy reunion! We’re so happy that Sunni and Bella are together again at last!
