Charming Couple Has Been to 644 Out Of 645 Cracker Barrels
If you think you’re a big fan of Cracker Barrel, you’ve got nothing on Indiana couple Ray and Wilma Yoder. They love the chain so much, they’ve been to a whopping 644 out of 645 Cracker Barrel restaurants.
(It must be the famous chicken-fried steak.)
The Goders turned their love of the food into a super-ambitious ongoing adventure 40 years ago when Ray developed a habit of visiting the stores while working for Coachman and delivering recreational vehicles all around the country. As any Cracker Barrel fan knows, you’re bound to run into those famous billboards at the most unexpected times on the highway. But he wanted to take his love a step further than most travelers.

“It took the boredom out of being on the road,” he said. “It has a down-home spirit, and everybody is friendly. It’s like being at home.”
His lovely wife Wilma was more than happy to join him on his mission, even if it meant traveling an insane-sounding 5 million miles to do so. In the midst of their journey, they even got to see a brand-new one open in Georgia — and they visited on the opening day!
And their presence has not gone unnoticed. They’ve been pretty public about their goals, so they’ve become something of minor celebrities among fellow Cracker Barrel fans.
“It’s a good feeling. It’s something we’ve followed this long, but it’s gained attention in the last 10 years or so,” Ray said.
Both 80 years old, Ray and Wilma both say they’ve never had a bad Cracker Barrel experience. And they’re planning on making their last stop, the location in Tualatin, Oregon, later this year.
Fingers crossed their 645th spot is a great one!
