Hairstylist Morgan Moore and nurse practitioner Lee Hoff took a leap of faith that wound up changing hundreds of lives — including their own. Here, they share their story with Woman’s World.

Dear God, please help me find purpose in my career, Morgan Moore prayed. I long to do something that matters. What is it?

After reaching many pinnacles in her decade-long career as a hairstylist and cosmetologist, Morgan ached for more. She was almost 30, and she still felt unsatisfied.

Then suddenly, a thought came to Morgan’s mind: Wigs through insurance.

How a simple prayer sparked a hair loss solution

Stunned at the sudden realization, she reflected on all the times clients had experienced hair thinning due to stress or illness. Each case had touched Morgan’s heart.

Maybe I could find ways for people going through traumatic, life-altering circumstances to receive help paying for hair-related services, she pondered.

After sharing her thoughts during a family dinner, her sister-in-law, Lee Hoff, who was a nurse practitioner in a private oncology office, was instantly intrigued.

Feeling a missing piece in her own path, Lee felt God calling her to help.

“Send me the business plan,” she exclaimed. “I’m in!”

In June 2022, Morgan and Lee turned their passion for helping others into two organizations: Morgan & Moore, a hair loss solutions company, and Inclusive Crowns, a nonprofit that provides free medical wigs to those experiencing hair loss.

The Vallejo, California, office provides customized cranial prostheses and personalized hair-loss support to clients with cancer, lupus, alopecia and burns.

Soon, women realized this was now their safe haven to receive beautiful hair, with insurance no longer a barrier.

“I look like me again!” one woman exclaimed tearfully after trying on her wig.

A ministry of hope for women in need

Another client, a bride with alopecia, lost all her hair and canceled her wedding. But Inclusive Crowns was able to gift her a free medical wig. She rescheduled her wedding and enjoys her life, feeling like herself again.

Lee loves the good they are doing.

“We pray and cry with these women,” she says. “This is so much more than hair — this is a ministry.”

For Morgan, her soul is now content.

“I never would have gone in this direction without God’s insight,” she says. “I’m excited to see where He takes us!”
