Sam’s Club’s Mystery Cake Pops have shoppers talking!

In the last few days, folks have taken to social media to share their unexpected discovery within the Sam’s Club shelves. The Member’s Mark Mystery Cake Pops look harmless enough. This 14-pack of cake pops complete with a green coating and sprinkles are the type of treat you’d grab on a whim for a backyard barbecue or class party—but beneath that crunchy outer shell is where the surprise aspect comes in. 

After you bite into this cake pop, there’s a good chance you’ll be met with the sweet and familiar flavors of bright blue raspberry or tropical pineapple—but those a little less lucky will experience the surprising sensation that a dill pickle flavored cake pop provides. Yes, you read that right! 

Instagram user @samsclubmembers took to social media to share her experience tasting these sweet surprises—and she urges folks not to hate so hard on the dill pickle! 

“Surprisingly enough, we all picked either pineapple or blue raspberry (including my husband). Three of us got pineapple (which we all loved) and one of the girls got the blue raspberry (she also loved it). Then we were curious where the pickle one(s) were so I grabbed another one and BOOM…IT WAS PICKLE FLAVORED! To be honest, I’m not a pickle lover and I didn’t think it was THAT BAD, but we definitely threw it out after everybody tried it. If you are a dill pickle lover…you may actually enjoy that one!”

She went on to explain that she isn’t quite sure just how many dill pickle pops come in each package, but she did note that each cake pop is coated in a sour sugar, so if you aren’t a huge fan of things like sour candy or more tart flavors, this experience might not be for you. 

Reactions were mixed in the comment section, with one user sharing, “Not gonna lie, my toddler would absolutely smash some pickle flavored cake pops.” On the contrary, others felt the price, which was $17.74 in this particular video, was too high for potentially unpleasant flavors. “Sorry to be a party pooper, but that’s too much money to spend on a bad cake pop,” wrote another user.
