Abandoned Blind Cat and Furry Best Friend Find Forever Home Together

Tags:

There’s nothing more special than a friend that’s willing to look out for you. And now, no one knows that better than one very adorable blind cat.

Ray, who was found wandering all alone on the streets of Sacramento, California, was turned in to the Front Street Animal Shelter by some kindhearted rescuers. Shortly after he arrived at the shelter, he met a fellow cat, Bea, to whom he became very close very quickly. Before long, the two felines began to do everything together as a pair. They even shares the same kennel.

As their friendship blossomed, Bea quite literally became Ray’s “eyes.” Staff members quickly noticed how Bea was helping to reassure him and restore his confidence after all the unimaginable things he must have been through after being abandoned. After three months in the shelter together, they were finally able to find their forever home — together — with a little help from social media.

The staff put together a heartwarming video explaining the power of their friendship and how badly they wanted to be adopted by the same family. It’s not hard to see why it immediately went viral.

Not long after the shelter put up the video, Kaylee Grunau and her family wandered into the shelter and told them she had seen the video and wanted to meet both of the cats in person.

“Just because a cat has a disability doesn’t mean that you can’t at least check it out and see if it would be a good fit for your home,” Grunau said.

Sure enough, both kitties got to go home with the family — and now adorable Ray will always have Bea nearby to look out for him. What a beautiful ending!
