Corgi Versions of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Barked ‘I Do’ in All-Pup Royal Wedding

If you can’t wait for the royal wedding (we can’t either!), you’re in for a treat. To celebrate Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s upcoming nuptials, Lifetime held a mock royal wedding for corgis, and the results were “pawsitively” adorable.

The “Corgi Court,” as it was called, had all the pomp and circumstance of a true royal wedding. Each corgi was given a royal title before being escorted down the red carpet. Prince William, Duchess Catherine, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and even Queen Elizabeth were in attendance, albeit hairier than normal. Two human guards stood stoically by while the dogs divided their time between playing with a trainer, lapping from a fountain, and exploring a mini Windsor Castle replica. The Beatles’ and the Spice Girls’ music played over the loudspeakers.

Prince Harry was dapper in his Navy uniform, while Prince William looked handsome in the Irish Guards Mounted Officer’s uniform he wore to his own 2011 wedding. For months we’ve wondered what Meghan Markle’s wedding dress was going to look like, and now we finally know! OK, not really, but Meghan Markle the corgi looked precious in her white lace gown and tiara, though she did have trouble keeping the headpiece attached to her noggin.

According to some reports, Prince Harry didn’t seem too interested in spending time with his furry fiancée, choosing instead to plant himself near the fountain to stay hydrated. However, Meghan wasn’t bothered by her hubby-to-be’s lack of affection. Instead, she plopped herself in front of the castle’s entrance. We’re sure the real Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are more than happy to spend time in each other’s company.
Queen Elizabeth has made no secret of her love for corgis, so it’s not surprising that Lifetime chose this breed to help market its upcoming movie Harry and Meghan: A Royal Romance. The TV movie, which will air May 13 at 8 p.m. EST, will tell the story of the title characters’ fairy-tale love story.
We hope the real royal wedding on May 19 will be just as sweet as this corgifest.
