Mischievous Penguins Caught on Camera Adorably Making a Break for It

Tags:

At first, all you can see is the camera panning a bunch of tiny footprints in the light snow covering the ground. Then, the person filming turns the corner, and you’re smack in the middle of one of the most hilarious chase scenes we’ve ever seen.

Adorably, the pursuit involves a group of daring penguins at the Odense Zoo in Denmark who are trying to escape. As the group moves faster–and you hear the pitter-patter of their tiny webbed feet–the confused zookeeper who’s holding the camera moves in quickly. The penguins start to zoom even faster–come hell or high water, they’re making a break for it!

But when they realize they’ve hit a dead end and have to turn around (the jig is clearly up), the escapees have no choice but to go back to their enclosure. They do it in SUCH a guilty, but speedy, manner, you can practically hear them saying, “Who, us?! We’re innocent, we swear. Nothing to see here!”
