Facial hair is a fact of life for some of us, especially after menopause. Women have been battling it for ages and have come up with some pretty fool-proof techniques. If your facial hair bothers you and you want to get rid of it, we’ve got a couple of new ideas for you to try. As with any new beauty product, it’s always a good idea to test them out on a small patch of skin first.
Above the lip? Pick premade wax strips. They conform to the lip’s contours to gently remove small tufts of hair without tugging on delicate skin. And unlike hot liquid wax, they won’t leave behind a mustache of red, irritated skin. Try: Nad’s Natural Facial Wax Strips ($8, Amazon)
Along the jawline? Opt for a depilatory cream infused with aloe. The cream’s calcium thioglycolate dissolves proteins in the larger swaths of hair on the sides of the face so they swipe right off while aloe prevents irritation. Try: Surgi-Cream Facial Depilatory ($7, SallyBeauty)
Below the brows? Choose a remover “pen.” How it works: When moved in quick circular motions, the tip’s small openings remove finer pieces of fuzz with precision and without grabbing surrounding brow hairs. Try: Flawless Brows Eyebrow Hair Remover ($20, Ulta)
