People Say New ‘Cat Purring’ Generator Helps With Stress and Sleeplessness

The site is called Purrli, and it’s the brainchild of Belgian sound engineer Stéphane Pigeon. According to Pigeon, the idea for the cat-purr generator came to him after people kept asking he add kitty sounds to a different noise creator he’d invented. Once that addition received millions of views, he was inspired to create a new-and-improved one. Thus, Purrli was born, to the delight of cat fans everywhere.
“In the beginning, I thought a cat purr would be no more than a gimmick,” Pigeon writes on the website. “Something fun, but probably useless. Many user testimonials later, I realize how wrong I was.” Part of what makes Purrli so special is how customizable it is. It goes far beyond simply generating the sound of any old cat; instead, the user has the freedom to control the purr’s intensity by simply toggling a few movable dots between an impressive variety of sounds.

Do you prefer your cat purrs “sleepy” or “happy”? Would you like to hear one that sounds “steady” or “lively”? If you want to get more specific, you can even control whether it’s a “purr out” or a “purr in” noise. (Imagine trying to convince an actual cat to go along with this — definitely not happening!)
