Think it’s too soon to be making holiday plans and setting up your Christmas tree and decorations? Think again. Dolly Parton just launched a new holiday album – “A Holly Dolly Christmas Ultimate Deluxe” – and it’s guaranteed to have you decking the halls and feeling festive (even though we’re still in pumpkin mode).

The country music legend, who’d been teasing a big announcement for weeks, announced the album’s release Friday on Twitter:

“Christmas really did come early! ‘A Holly Dolly Christmas Ultimate Deluxe’ is out now! Spread some holiday cheer and order now!” she wrote on social media last Friday.

This 20-song album is an expanded version of “A Holly Dolly Christmas”, which was released in 2020. That album debuted at number one on the Billboard Top Country Albums. Among the new version’s notable inclusions is a fully digital version of ‘A Smoky Mountain Christmas.,’ which was originally featured in Dolly’s 1986 holiday film of the same name. Two other songs from the movie, ‘(I’d Like To Spend) Christmas With Santa’ and ‘Wrapped Up In You,’ are also included. An August 26 press release announced that it would features duets with Michael Bublé (a.k.a. “The King of Christmas”) and Dolly’s late brother and fellow country singer Randy Parton, as well. The album is available to download on Apple Music, Spotify, and other streaming platforms.

Following the announcement, Dolly poked fun at people who suggested it was too early to start playing holiday tunes.

The fact that she gets an early start getting in the spirit doesn’t mean she ends the party any earlier. Parton once revealed in a podcast that she starts decorating her home the day after Thanksgiving and leaves everything up well after Christmas. “I always make them leave my decorations up ’til after my birthday [January 19], ’cause I am still celebrating,” she said.

In addition to this Christmas album, fans can keep an eye out for her NBC special Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas premiering later this year. Dolly is truly helping us all begin the holidays with cheer!
