William, Kate, and the Kids Make a Surprise TV Appearance — And Will is Quite the Comedian

Tags:

Any glimpse of Kate Middleton, Prince William, and their three young children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis on their own is exciting enough, but seeing them all together? Well, that’s a totally different ball game.

Like many people across the world, the royal family are continuing to hunker down in isolation whilst millions of dedicated doctors, nurses, and carers work tirelessly on the frontline to help those suffering from COVID-19.

Support and appreciation for them is at an all time high, which is why their work has drawn the most special of royal appearances.

On Thursday, Prince William appeared first in a segment with British television legend, Stephen Fry.

The program, BBC One’s Big Night In, involved some light entertainment from the Prince — a side of him we rarely get to see.

Quick banter passed between the two, with William admitting that he was missing British soap EastEnders amid the lockdown.

When Fry asked him whether he’d caught up on the Netflix sensation, Tiger King, the Prince quickly shut down the recomendation, comically quipping that he chooses to “avoid shows about royalty”.

But most hilariously, it was the Prince’s off-hand comment at the end that really had us in stitches.

As the dad-of-three promised Fry he was heading off to get his family together for the next surprise segment, he had a couple of things to tend to.

“On my way,” he told him.

“Let me just see if I can find my socks… and my shoes…,” the Prince added, before surreptitiously glancing down and saying, “… and my trousers”.

And as if William’s very convincing and comedic acting wasn’t enough, we were then treated to the ultimate in television content.

As the tune of Coldplay’s Paradise played, the entire Cambridge family, including Kate, wearing a stunning blue midi dress by Ghost, and their three kids also all dressed in blue, were seen stepping out of their house.

As the beat of the music broke, the family themselves break into applause — their contribution to the Clap for Carers initiative for NHS workers working on the frontline.

The shades of their blue outfits, another subtle show of support, complimented the clip to perfection.

It’s a sight, folks. Prepare the tissues before watching, perhaps?

The Cambridge family have had plenty of activities to keep them going over the past couple of days.

Just yesterday, Prince Louis celebrated his second birthday, with the Palace releasing a series of special photographs of the young royal as he committed to a rather messy paint job — which incidentally also paid a subtle tribute to NHS workers.

Children around the UK (and the world) have been leaving rainbow paintings in their windows to show their support and thanks for NHS workers, so Louis’ creation is the latest, rather royal addition to the lot.

And the Cambridge family aren’t the only royals who’ve joined in the clapping initiative.

Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla also shared their own public video of themselves clapping for carers from their residence in Scotland, where they are currently isolating.

“The Duke and Duchess of Rothesay have joined the nation once again to show their continued appreciation and support for all the NHS staff and other key workers on the frontline of the battle against coronavirus. Thank you! 💙,” Clarence House wrote.

Dressed in smart casual ensembles — jeans for Camilla, and slacks for Charles -— the pair were all smiles in the sweet video.
