The Queen is 93, and Yes, She Still Rides a Horse Like a Pro

Today, we celebrate a brand new mantra to live by: If the queen can ride a horse at 93 years old — you can deal with whatever troubles come your way.

Like the absolute gem of a human she is, Queen Elizabeth was spotted riding a horse in Windsor this week, proving that she’s absolutely still got it, no matter how close to 100 she gets.

In photos shared in a report by People, the queen was seen enjoying a horseback ride around Windsor Castle, and there’s no denying how naturally it comes to her.

Wearing a black coat, headscarf and a trendy pair of glasses, the queen looked to be enjoying her morning riding the gorgeous black horse — something we know she has always been fond of doing.

The queen is known to be an avid horse fan, having been given her first horse at just four years of age.

The pony — a Shetland — undoubtedly started a lifelong love for the animal, and since then, the monarch has regularly attended horse shows and rather enjoys attending horse racing events.

In fact, she’s been a regular at elite British racing event Royal Ascot for a number of years — and boy do we know it, we can’t get enough of her race day fashion from over the years!

The queen’s love for horses has definitely been passed down through her children, with daughter Princess Anne becoming the first royal family member to compete in the Olympics.

The queen’s granddaughter Zara Tindall also followed suit, competing in the 2012 Olympics in Britain’s Eventing team.

And going by the latest pictures of the queen, we’re pretty sure both Zara and Anne will continue riding long into their senior years as well!

The queen’s love of horses has also been showcased in Netflix series The Crown, where Elizabeth is seen spending a lot of time at horse ranches, and appearing very happy to do so.

Her passion for equestrian sports has led her to win more than 530 races that her horses have taken part in — no small feat.

Here’s to many more horse-riding spectacles for our unstoppable queen!
