Reba McEntire Has a New Love In Her Life — And He’s From Our Favorite TV Show

Reba McEntire hasn’t let lockdown put a damper on her love life. The legendary country singer just revealed that she’s been getting close with a new fella despite social distancing.

The lucky man is actor Rex Linn, who is most well-known for appearing in all 10 seasons of CSI: Miami as Detective Frank Tripp. More recently, he can be seen as a regular on the AMC drama Better Call Saul and CBS comedy Young Sheldon.

Although we aren’t detectives (fictional or otherwise), we have a feeling sparks probably started flying between the pair while McEntire was on the set of Young Sheldon for a guest role. The singer explained on her new podcast, Living and Learning with Reba McEntire, that they went on their first date just before the pandemic shut most of the country down in February. Her episode of the Big Bang Theory spin-off aired that same month, making it likely that their paths crossed during its production.

Plus, a quick scroll on the actor’s Instagram page confirms their relationship timeline with a super cozy photo of the two clearly on a date night back in January. Linn captioned the snap, “Had a fantastic dinner with this Oklahoma girl. Tater tots and ketchup included.”

McEntire also explained on her podcast how the forced space between them during lockdown has actually helped them feel closer.

“We were talking, texting, FaceTime, and that’s a really good way to get to know people,” she said. The couple share a lot of laughs together, too, and bond over their career experiences. “Discussions about our past, our family, funny stories, him being an actor, me being an actress. And he’s very into my music. I’m very into his career. It’s just great getting to talk to somebody who I find very interesting, very funny, very smart, and is interested in me, too.”

Does this remind anyone else of good old-fashioned courting where you really get to know your partner? It’s pretty darn refreshing.

We couldn’t be happier for McEntire — and hope she spills even more sweet details of this budding romance!
