Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL has officially reopened its doors. While families are happy to be back in the park, there’s another exciting event going on — the Taste of Epcot International Wine & Food Festival.

Each year, Disney hosts an international food festival at their famous Epcot center where they serve some super tasty dishes inspired by cultures and cuisines all over the globe. This year, since many are still practicing safe social-distancing, some of the Epcot chefs took to the Disney World blog to share some of their favorite recipes from the food festival, so you can get a taste of the world right from your home!

On August 23rd, Karen McClintock, Food & Beverage Content Relations Manager for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, decided to share one of her favorite recipes from the festival, and it’s one we’re particularly excited about — Gourmet Macaroni and Cheese with Boursin® Garlic & Fine Herbs Cheese topped with Herbed Panko.

Who doesn’t love a bowl of warm, cheesy, ooey gooey comfort? While you can find this dish being served at the World Showplace in Disney World, now you can make it right in your own kitchen. And trust us, it’s easy enough to do that you’re going to want to save this one.

This mac and cheese recipe brings everything you love about your favorite comfort food dish with an added dose of fanciness that takes it to the next level. The signature ingredient is the garlic and herb flavored Boursin cheese, which you can find in most grocery stores and supermarkets.

Boursin is a type of soft, creamy, somewhat crumbly Gournay cheese that was originally created by a Frenchman named Francois Boursin in the 1960s. The signature cheese is super rich, and it’s most famous variety — garlic and herb — is flavored with fresh parsley, chives, and savory garlic. Can’t you imagine it’s melty goodness over your pasta already?

The signature Disney World dish is also made with white and yellow cheddar cheeses for added richness and flavor, and other easy-to-find ingredients including cavatappi or elbow pasta, butter, flour, whole milk, garlic powder, onion powder, mustard powder, salt, and pepper. Last but not least, it’s topped with toasted herb panko breadcrumbs for a crunch that’s just to die for. Our mouths are watering just thinking about it.

If you’re ready to bring on the Boursin, check out the Disney Parks blog here for the full recipe. We’re certainly bookmarking this page (and saving a print-out) for the future!
