Time for a self-care cocktail!

This “Self-Care Summer” — our unofficial name for June through August, 2022 — is the perfect time to sit on the porch and enjoy the beautiful weather. To celebrate National Red Wine Day (August 28), beat the heat, and enjoy happy hour from the comfort of your home, try this single-serve red sangria recipe.

Is making a cocktail for one worth the effort?

Sangria is a popular chilled drink in Spanish-speaking countries. Typically, it contains red or white wine, sparkling water, citrus fruit, and sugar. This drink is commonly made in a pitcher and is meant to serve several people. However, if you’re making it for yourself, you’re not likely to finish the entire pitcher on your own.

Making a single serving of sangria lets you enjoy the drink without wasting any ingredients. Sure, it takes a little effort, but you would make this drink for others. Why are you not worth the same investment? And honestly, it doesn’t take very long to whip this sangria recipe up. Reward yourself after tending to your home garden or sorting out loads of laundry. Think of it as important self-care.

  • Club soda
  • Few cubes ice
