If you flashed back to the day that Adrian Franklin found out he was going to have to escort his classmate, Brooke, at a family friend’s wedding, you never would guess that the two would wind up dating down the road. “I was devastated,” he admitted saying as a 5-year-old. “I was like, ‘Tell me I don’t have to walk down the aisle with her!’” But flower girl Brooke was thrilled. “We went to school together and I would always try to play with him on the playground.”
Something changed in Adrian in middle school, because he was now writing a very important question with his finger on Brooke’s back: Will you be my girlfriend? But the question mark was missing, so she didn’t answer immediately!
But that’s okay: Brooke said yes to a much more important question later–and Adrian even used that early memory as part of the proposal: “I had a sign made that said ‘Will you marry me’ but I cut the question mark out,” Adrian added. “I asked her to marry me and I said, ‘Here’s your question mark.'”
Naturally, Brooke gave her childhood crush a big yes, and the lovebirds tied the knot a few weeks ago–amazingly enough, in the same exact church where they first walked down the aisle together all those years ago. Such a sweet story these two share–and we know it’s a sign for many years of wedded bliss ahead.
