Royal Beauty Secrets: You Can Buy Queen Elizabeth’s Favorite Hand Cream at Walmart

Tags:

You might assume Queen Elizabeth’s beauty secrets include the fanciest (and priciest) products on the market. Think again! It turns out, she likes to keep things simple. In fact, you can snag her favorite hand cream from your local Walmart.

According to the Telegraph, a humble bottle of Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream is one of the monarch’s beauty essentials and it “never runs out at the palace.” The skincare and makeup company is among those on a list of Royal Warrant Holders, which is basically a catalog of all the places that have been deemed worthy of providing goods and services to the royal family over the years.

Take a look to learn more about the budget-friendly hand cream that’s fit for royalty:

$25.38, Walmart

Why we like it:

  • Strengthens nails
  • Minimizes appearance of age spots on skin
  • Moisturizes and protects against irritation

The company promises their cream will help “restore a more youthful appearance” to your hands as you age. Reviews confirm that it not only gets the job done, but also “smells delicious” and doesn’t feel greasy.

Elizabeth’s preference for Clarins goes back decades: They provided Her Majesty with a bespoke lip color to match the robes for her Coronation back in 1953. The Telegraph also uncovered another surprisingly affordable royal beauty item you can find at Walmart: Essie’s Ballet Slipper nail polish ($8.77, Walmart). Apparently, it’s the only shade Elizabeth has worn on her fingers since 1989 after requesting a bottle straight from the company’s founder, Essie Weingarten.

Although we can’t imagine ever bumping into Elizabeth while wandering the aisles of our local Walmart (which is known as Asda on her side of the pond), it’s pretty fun to think about! And it reminds us of another Elizabeth’s preference for budget-beauty finds: Elizabeth Taylor. According to the actress’s former personal assistant, she relied on Jergens moisturizer, which, again, you can also still grab at Walmart on the cheap ($8.72, Walmart).

Whether you want to follow in the footsteps of a queen or classic Hollywood starlet, it’s nice to know you won’t have to break the bank!
