8 Wonderful ‘Wizard of Oz’ Quotes to Remind Us of the Movie’s Beautiful Message

Tags:

We just love revisiting our favorite old movies — they’re always good for a little nostalgia, and some of them are all-time classics. The Wizard of Oz is one of those movies even though it’s been almost 80 years since the film’s original release. But eight decades or not, this film stands up. In fact, it still inspires Halloween costumes and party themes to this very day!

What we’ve really taken away from this film, though, are all the beautiful messages that its characters learned on their trek down the yellow brick road. With Scarecrow looking for his brain, the Tin Man aching for a heart, the Cowardly Lion seeking courage, and Dorothy wanting nothing more than to find her way back to her friends and family, this motley crew had a long journey ahead of them. Of course, as they made their way down that yellow brick road and to the Emerald City, they discovered the power of friendship, love, bravery, and wisdom all along the way.

Take a look at this video to learn a few things you probably never knew about The Wizard of Oz!

Although we’ll always love the famous The Wizard of Oz quote, “There’s no place like home,” (because, truly, there is no place quite as good as home) there are plenty more wise words to live by in this film. Dorothy, Glinda, Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion all have their share of lines and lessons that we hold dear in our hearts.

By the end of the flick, all these characters had found what they were looking for — and they’d given us these lovely inspirational quotes along the way. Sure, those songs might get stuck in our head, too — but we don’t mind singing along all day to “Follow the Yellow Brick Road.” Wouldn’t you agree?
