Make Dessert Even More Fun With This Easy Banana Split on a Stick Recipe
You'll want to keep a batch in your freezer for instant indulgence
There’s just something about a banana split that transports you back to those lazy days of summer as a kid. We admit we still love ‘em — but all too often, our eyes are bigger than our stomach. That’s why we came up with this Banana Split on a Stick recipe. It lets you enjoy those flavors in a better-for-you bite, plus who can resist a dessert on a stick?!
We like to top our chocolate-covered bananas in coconut flakes and toasted almonds for a bit of a nutty twist, but the possibilities are endless! Think crushed Oreos, rainbow sprinkles, mini chocolate chips… really whatever your heart desires. Let us know what you come up with in the comments below.
Bonus tip: Buy bananas but don’t want to turn the whole bunch into these splits on a stick just yet? To keep bananas fresh longer, simply separate them before placing them in your fruit bowl. The reason: Each banana releases ethylene gas, which causes ripening and browning of not only the fruit itself but of other fruit connected to it. Breaking the bunch apart limits the amount of ethylene each banana gets, so they stay fresh for days longer.
