Costco’s Wine Advent Calendar Sells Out Fast! How To Get Your Hands on One or Find A Dupe

Each year, Costco offers a twist on the classic Advent calendar, allowing you to countdown the days until Christmas and enjoy it as you go. The store’s wine Advent calendar is the perfect addition to the holiday season, allowing you to wind down at the end of the day with a glass of wine.
Costco’s Wine Advent-ure includes 24 half-bottles of wine, or 375 mL each. The varieties of wine include an “Italian Ripasso, South African Chenin Blanc, Spanish Garnacha, Cotes du Rhone Red and Hungarian Gruner Veltliner.” The calendar is being sold for $99.99.
However, every year the ultra-popular calendar is quick to sell out, with thousands of folks interested in snagging the product. Costco shoppers rave about the wine Advent calendar, with one Reddit reviewer saying, “They are half bottles, so 2 glasses. Easy to share as a coupe, or drink 2 alone! These are popular in the NJ Costcos. They come out in September and usually sell out very quickly.”
Even if you don’t want to drink wine every night of the month, you can follow your own schedule like this Reddit user did: “I started mine last year in October and finished in January,” they wrote. “It was still very fun to pluck out the random wines even if I didn’t follow the Advent timetable.”
Of course, if the product is sold out in your store, you might have a hard time getting your hands on it this season. But other stores are selling similar products that will do the trick and can take the place of the Costco wine Advent calendar.
Where to find a wine Advent calendar dupe
The liquor store Total Wine has its own calendar, which features 24 quarter bottles, or 187 mL each. This product is available for only $79.99, and you can get it on their website or in your local store.
Aldi is also selling their own version of the wine Advent calendar: the Winter Wonderland Wine Advent Calendar Tasting Experience (above). This product, too, has 24 187-mL bottles inside. The best part about the discount grocer’s calendar? It’s only $59.99 to purchase.
Even the Hallmark Channel has their own version of a wine Advent calendar, which you can order online. This choice is more festive, featuring 24 holiday-themed 187-mL wine bottles. All of the bottles are sourced from all over the world, with choices from Argentina, Chile, Italy, South Africa and the United States.
But the Hallmark wine calendar added a fun Hallmark-style twist to their version: “Behind every door you’ll discover a curated mini bottle of wine paired with a classic holiday activity for you to check off your Hallmark Christmas bucket list.”
