Costco Shoppers Reveal 3 Items They Regret Not Stocking up on — ‘Wish I Bought 50 Boxes!’
Discover why Costco discontinues items and which products shoppers miss the mos
For decades, shoppers have flocked to Costco to pick up their favorite items in bulk. From toilet paper to gum, tomato sauce, mega-boxes of cereal and even batteries, the store is stocked with everything customers could need—and in extra-large portions. But as we are all too aware, sometimes items go viral and sell out really fast or the store will stop selling an item altogether, leaving customers wishing they had bought more when they were able.
So why does the warehouse store stop selling certain products? And which items do shoppers wish they had bought more of before they disappeared for good? Read on for all the answers!
What does Costco stop selling products?
Sometimes, there’s a totally reasonable explanation for Costco to stop selling products, like in the case of seasonal products: Very few shoppers are looking for pumpkin pie, holiday decor or Christmas trees in February, so there’s no need for the store to sell them.
Other times, Costco stops selling a product because the item simply wasn’t popular. A recent example of this is the churro sold in the warehouse store’s food court. When customers weren’t buying the sweet treat, Costco removed it from the menu, replacing it with a Double Chocolate Chunk Cookie that has been incredibly popular with shoppers and influencers alike.

Finally, Costco will stop selling products due to supplier issues, like when the vendor selling to Costco raises prices or stops selling an item. Supplier issues can also come in the form of contract changes: If Costco’s agreement with a brand ends and either party decides not to renew it, the product will no longer be sold in stores.
Costco shoppers share which items they wished they had stocked up on
Understandably, Costco shoppers get upset when their favorite products get discontinued, and they even started a Reddit thread where they shared the exact items they bought and wish they had stocked up on before it disappeared.
Costco’s Mint Fitcrunch Bar
One shopper laments Costco’s Mint Fitcrunch bars, saying, “now they only sell the peanut butter…I wish I bought 50 boxes instead.”

Adidas Cloudfoam shows
And of course, what would Costco be without the endless supply of clothes and shoes? One shopper says, “Five or six years ago, I bought a pair of Adidas Cloudfoam shoes for my job, for $19.97. They were so comfortable, I went back the next day and bought the last remaining 8 pairs in my size. Sadly, I just put on my final new pair last month.” The shoes are no longer in stock anywhere
Fabletics Leggings
Another thing Costco has gone viral for over the past couple of years is leggings. And while there are quite a few options out there, one shopper fondly recalls their Fabletics Leggings, snapping up two pairs for $9.97 each. After falling in love with the athletic ware, this shopper discovered the store no longer carried the leggings, lamenting, “I wish I had bought them all.”
