This timeless, cozy Ralph Lauren Christmas decor trend is back—here’s how to recreate it at home on a budget
Christmas decor has changed and evolved over the years, with different trends floating in and out, like “Pinkmas” or the icy look. But a new trend has recently gone viral on social media that brings back the warm and nostalgic feel of a traditional Christmas and that is the Ralph Lauren Christmas trend.
A Ralph Lauren Christmas, which isn’t really a new trend but has recently resurfaced, has a timeless feel, filled with deep colors and classic pieces. The style comes from the beloved fashion brand, Ralph Lauren, which emphasizes traditional colors and patterns.
The man behind the brand, Ralph Lauren, had a specific intention when he first launched the brand and that was to create a style that was luxurious, quality and romantic. According to the website, Lauren, “[drew] inspiration from the glamour of Old Hollywood.” When designing his first men’s collection, he said, “I wanted more romance.”
Thus, as his empire expanded and decor became a staple of the brand, each of the products and decorations carried that same feel and inspiration.
6 tips for nailing the Ralph Lauren Christmas decor style
@ourwintonhome Ralph Lauren inspired decor I’ve been seeing! It also doesn’t really feel like a trend. To me the Ralph Lauren decor is just traditional Christmas decor. Soft green tones, deep reds, shimmery gold and lots of cozy lights.🤎 This year’s fireplace and Christmas tree is one of my favorites I’ve done ever! Also, should I do clear or color lights on my exterior? I can’t decide!! #christmas #christmasdecor #christmastime #christmasvibes #ralphlaurenchristmas
If you’re craving that nostalgic feel and classic look, there are a few ways you can achieve the Ralph Lauren Christmas decor.
New York-based designer Kati Curtis commented on the trendy Christmas decor. “The palette is anchored in deep, moody tones like hunter green, oxblood, navy, and espresso brown, sometimes offset with cream, and always with polished silver,” Curtis explained. “Textures like velvet, cashmere, and ‘saddle’ leather are essential.”
Mixing in a few plaid items can add to the texture of those colors. Most of the colors and patterns reflect that nostalgic Christmas feel, like the comforting sound of a crackling fireplace.
Where to find affordable Ralph Lauren Christmas dupes: Target, Walmart & More

There are a few stores where you can find the picture-perfect items without spending Ralph Lauren prices. One of these is Pottery Barn, the furniture and decor company. While their prices are a tad higher than those at other stores, you can find items like plaid stockings and throw blankets.
Target has also hopped on the trend, selling items like their plaid tree skirt, which is currently on sale for $3.60 (reg. $6). The Christmas bear ornament resembles the Ralph Lauren bear, making it perfectly on theme, which you can buy for $5 or you can snag the red and green 50-count ornament set for $20.

Walmart is also a good place to find items, like their red velvet ornaments for $8.99, which incorporate the traditional colors and the warm velvet texture. The velvet Christmas bows are also very on trend, which you can get for $10.93 and use to cover your tree.
