HomeGoods ‘Deck the Everything Day’ is all about celebrating early decorators

“My sister and I are huge HomeGoods fans, so we are excited to be partnering up with them to help launch Deck the Everything Day, which is basically a celebration for all of the early decorators who cannot wait to start decorating,” Tia explained. “And that is so my sister and I.”

Deck the Everything Day takes place on November 1, so if you’ve been waiting all year to pull out the festive decorations or to buy some new ones, this is the day for you. And HomeGoods certainly gets that, as they’re opening their stores one hour earlier on that day so shoppers can get a jump start on decorating.

If you’re someone who enjoys the holidays as much as Tia and Tamera, you might be well-acquainted with your HomeGoods Holiday Carol, which is your “spirited alter ego that comes to life each holiday season.”

There are multiple Holiday Carols that can describe your holiday personality but a few are “Pretty in Pinkmas Carol,” “Pining for Plaid Carol,” “Winter Whimsy Carol” and the “Evergreen Icon Carol.” So whichever vibe you prefer for the holiday season, HomeGoods has something just for you.

“HomeGoods wants to encourage everyone to discover their HomeGoods Holiday Carol,” Tia shared. Tamera added, “Because research shows that about 72% of individuals lean into their creativity around this time.”

Tia and Tamera may be twins, but when it comes to their holiday personas, they couldn’t be more different. Tia explained that her Holiday Carol “is winter whimsy and it’s all about the frosted garlands, the icy shades of blue. It’s like icy elegance.”

Tamera, on the other hand, prefers a more traditional Christmas. “I’m more of the Evergreen icon,” Tamera explained. “I just love red and green and the traditional colors of Christmas. I also love that the style kind of embodies warmth and it’s also elegant. And I live in the country, so I love the rustic elements of the Evergreen icon.”

Carrying on holiday traditions is one of the best parts of Christmas and the winter season, but starting your own family can mean that some traditions live on and a few new ones begin as well, as the twins have discovered. Tia and Tamera have a few traditions from their childhood that they’ve both carried into their adult lives, but they’ve also started some that are just for them.

“Growing up, we would do chocolate chip cookies and stuff like that,” Tia explained. “But now I make gingerbread hot chocolate, where I’ll put in a little bit of ginger, nutmeg [in the hot chocolate] and then we’ll add gingerbread cookies inside the hot chocolate. We also do Peppermint hot chocolate and Oreo cookie hot chocolate. So, we just have a lot of fun.”

Tamera added, “We always baked cookies for Santa Claus [as kids]. On Christmas Eve, we always open a present. That was a tradition from our family that I’m passing down to mine, and we leave a note and cookies for Santa. But also, my daughter, she is an animal lover and is, like, ‘Mom, the reindeers, you can’t forget about them,’ so we leave carrots. That’s a new fun tradition that we’ve added.”

Make sure to head to your local HomeGoods for Deck the Everything Day on November 1 and get there an hour before the normal opening time. For your store’s hours, visit HomeGoods.com. The store will also be hosting a holiday giveaway on its Instagram (@homegoods) from October 29-31, where shoppers can enter for a chance to snag a gift card, the perfect way to start your holiday shopping.
