Meghan Markle might be leaving England behind in the wake of Megxit, but there’s one thing you can count on remaining the same: her signature shiny, smooth hair. “That’s the great thing about Meghan — she’s so confident with herself and her look, and she sticks with that,” her former hairstylist and makeup artist, Lydia F. Sellers, told Refinery 29 in 2018.

We can’t say we blame her: The Suits alum’s tresses are coveted the world over, and for good reason. Say what you will about those messy buns, Markle, 38, knows her way around an impeccable blowout.

Of course, royal or not, she doesn’t exactly wake up with a picture-perfect ‘do. In addition to regular in-salon keratin treatments, which London stylist Theonie Kakoulli told People she performed at least twice during Markle’s time overseas (“It takes the frizz out and makes it more manageable — she said it made a real difference”), the former actress relies on the help of a few must-have products in her beauty arsenal.

Read on for all the go-to hair oils, serums, and sprays the Duchess uses to achieve her oh-so-sleek look!

1. Oribe Volumista Mist

Amazon

Where to buy: $44, Amazon

To kick things off, Sellers revealed that she normally started with a bit of added volume. “I start with Oribe’s volumizing spray to prep [Markle’s] hair, just to give it that boost,” she shared.

It works courtesy of “copolymer resins” that swell around each hair shaft to plump them up, giving your mane a more full appearance. The former Royal’s locks also gets a boost from its marine glycogen (a substance deposited in bodily tissues as a store of carbohydrates) and antioxidant-filled amber extract, which works to strengthen.

2. Kérastase Nutritive Oleo Relax

Amazon

Where to buy: $35.99 (Originally $42), Amazon

Markle told BeautyBanter in 2016 that she uses this product “religiously.” “The Kerestasé relax treatment helps keep everything smooth,” Sellers later explained to Refinery.

Its powers lies in the inclusion of its Shorea seed butter and essential palm oils, which nourish, hydrate, and soften, all while keeping frizz at bay. To apply, use one to two pumps on damp, towel-dried ends.

3. Kevin Murphy SMOOTH.AGAIN

Where to buy: $61.99, Amazon

“Kevin Murphy also has a great smoothing cream I’ll use [on her],” said Sellers. “She always came [to the appointment] with dry hair, so we would just mist it with water and restyle it.”

This frizz-fighting formula is meant to be applied to towel-dried hair (just a dab will do!) to help nourish and protect your strands from the elements. It also easily works through hair with no grease or residue.

4. Wella Oil Reflections Luminous Smoothing Oil

Where to buy: $40, ULTA

Markle herself couldn’t help but rave about this gloss-inducing oil, which she said can also double as a body oil. “It smells like vacation and makes your hair slippery and touchable,” she told BeautyBanter in 2016. “It also doubles as a pretty amazing body oil post bath.”
