Found Weight Loss: Real Facts and Figures About the Pioneering GLP-1 Prescriber, Plus an Exclusive Interview
Telehealth provider Found wants to change the healthcare system's approach to weight management
Found Health is one of the original telehealth providers, and specializes in GLP-1 medication plans that include both name-brand and generic compounded semaglutide options. Like many other telehealth providers, Found Weight Loss offers a personalized treatment plan through expert clinicians, effective medication, and one-on-one support. Its prices and services are competitive and we conducted mystery shopper inquiries and had good experiences with email support. However, there is no toll-free or other phone support available.
To find out what makes Found different from other telehealth providers that prescribe weight loss medications, Woman’s World spoke to Found’s head of medical affairs, Dr. Rekha Kumar, about why the company was originally started, and how it wants to change how the healthcare system approaches weight management.
Found Weight Loss

Found's MetabolicPrint helps determine your treatment plan
Found starts by offering a quick qualifying questionnaire to see if you’re a good fit for its weight loss program. The telehealth provider calls this metabolic health assessment, “MetabolicPrint.” Dr. Kumar says: “We recognize that weight care isn’t one-size-fits-all. Our proprietary MetabolicPrint technology analyzes each member’s unique biology, history, and habits to inform truly personalized treatment plans. This goes beyond just prescribing medication — we provide comprehensive support that addresses all aspects of weight management.”
Once you’re approved for GLP-1 medication, Found pairs you with its care team. This includes two experts; a board-certified clinician specializing in weight loss and a health coach who assists with your goals and additional support. Dr. Kumar explains that, “Within 48 hours, most members receive their personalized care plan from a board-certified clinician trained in weight care, with support from a health coach and other specialists if necessary, including registered dieticians. This care plan encompasses medication management, nutrition guidance, and behavioral support strategies – all tailored to the individual’s specific needs, goals, and budget.”

Some medication costs are separate from membership fee
Found’s weight loss program works on a subscription basis. Dr. Kumar says: “Found’s membership starts at just $17/month when a member uses insurance for their medical care or $99/month without insurance. This includes access to comprehensive care from a dedicated team of clinicians and coaches, personalized treatment plans based on our proprietary MetabolicPrint technology, and ongoing support through our platform.”
While Dr. Kumar mentions the $99 per month membership fee, that rate is only available if you pay upfront for six months. Otherwise, the membership is $129 per month.
Monthly membership cost breakdown
| Monthly | Three-Month | Six-Month |
| $129 | $116/month ($348 upfront) | $99/month ($594 upfront) |
Oral weight loss medications are included with monthly membership plans, but injectable GLP-1 medication costs are not. “Many medication costs are separate from the membership fee, and some members can significantly reduce these costs through insurance coverage,” explains Dr. Kumar.
Found weight loss regional availability
While Found’s weight loss program is not available in all 50 states, Dr. Kumar says the telehealth provider is working to change that soon: “Found currently serves members in 42 states in the US — and we’re growing! Our expansion strategy prioritizes maintaining our high standard of care while navigating the complex regulatory landscape of telehealth and prescription medication management.”

Found saw an opportunity to change how people experience weight management
While there are hundreds of telehealth providers offering weight loss treatment plans, it wasn’t always like this. “Found launched in 2019 as one of the first companies to recognize the urgent need for affordable, expert-driven weight care,” said Dr. Kumar. “At a time when weight care was highly stigmatized and few comprehensive telehealth solutions existed, Found saw an opportunity to transform how people access and experience weight management.”
At a time when weight care was highly stigmatized and few comprehensive telehealth solutions existed, Found saw an opportunity to transform how people access and experience weight management
Since 2019, Found has had more than 250,000 members. Part of this success is how Found approaches its patients: “The company was built on the fundamental belief that weight care is healthcare and that everyone deserves access to personalized, compassionate, and evidence-based treatment that addresses the biological factors influencing weight, ” explains Dr. Kumar.
Found weight loss wanted to fill a gap in healthcare
Dr. Kumar explains that before Found started, weight management was neither affordable nor easily accessible in the current healthcare system: “Found was established by a team of experts who recognized a critical gap in healthcare. While science clearly showed that weight management requires medical expertise and comprehensive support, the existing healthcare system wasn’t meeting this need. Our founding team of specialists in obesity medicine, digital health, and technology came together to create a solution that would make quality weight care both accessible and affordable. ”
Luca Ranaldi recently took over as CEO. Dr. Kumar says. “His background from Spring Health reflects our commitment to disrupting antiquated parts of the health care system and our holistic approach to weight care — one that considers the interconnection between physical health, mental well-being, and sustainable lifestyle changes.”
Found weight loss has LegitScript certification
Found weight loss is a verified telemedicine website through the LegitScript certification process. This is important because it ensures that online pharmacies and telemedicine companies comply with all applicable laws. Payment service providers may also require their telemedicine providers to be LegitScript certified.
Found is one of the largest insurance-covered weight care platforms
Getting insurance approval for GLP-1 medications can be challenging due to several factors. Despite this, Dr. Kumar told us that by working with insurance providers in the healthcare system instead of around them, patients are more likely to continue treatment: “Found has built one of the largest insurance-covered weight care platforms in the country, now available to 100 million covered lives. This wasn’t a simple business decision; it reflects our core belief that effective weight care should be accessible to everyone who needs it…We’ve seen that without insurance coverage, the majority of patients may discontinue treatment due to cost barriers.”
“By working within the healthcare system rather than around it, we’re creating sustainable, long-term access to quality care while challenging the persistent stigma that frames weight management as a lifestyle choice rather than a medical need,” explains Dr. Kumar.” Fundamentally, we believe members should be able to choose how to pay for care in a way that works for them.”
Email customer service is very good and an app is available, but there is no phone support
Found has limited customer support compared to other online GLP-1 prescribers. Email support is the only option unless you sign up for the service, where you can message through Found’s app. There’s also a fairly in-depth FAQ section. Unfortunately, Found does not offer phone support like other online GLP-1 prescribers. A Found customer service agent told me that, “At this time, we do not have a dedicated member support phone line, our team is only able to respond via text, email, or through the Messaging Center of the Found App.”
Online experience
The Found weight loss website is easy to navigate with only a few sections with helpful information. However, like many other telehealth providers, Found insists you prequalify for medication through its health questionnaire. Thankfully, the GLP-1 provider also provides easily available upfront pricing on its medication and subscription, with and without insurance.
Customer experience
Found’s approach to support is a text/email model. Unfortunately, the telehealth provider does not offer any phone support. However, its email support is quite good. I received a reply in less than three hours both times I emailed and the agent answered all my questions.
Mystery shopper results
| Type | Result |

Medications shipped to your local pharmacy
After your assigned clinician prescribes GLP-1 medication, Found works with its ePharmacy network so you can pick up your medication at a local pharmacy. A customer service agent told me: “GLP-1 medications are not shipped to your door for free by Found’s ePharmacy partners. They are sent to your preferred local pharmacy for pickup.”
With that in mind, Found offers non-GLP-1 medications that don’t require insurance and are included in the membership cost: “These medications are clinically shown to help people lose and maintain weight loss and are shipped directly to you at no extra cost,” explained the agent.
Straightforward process to get a refill on medication
Similar to getting your initial treatment plan, you’ll need to continue working with your care team when you’re ready to get a refill on your medication. Dr. Kumar says: “Members work closely with their care team to monitor progress and adjust treatment as needed. Our clinicians provide regular oversight and guidance, ensuring medication management is optimized for each individual’s response and needs.”

Found weight loss stands apart through three key differentiators
While there are hundreds of telehealth providers offering weight management programs that include GLP-1s, Dr. Kumar says there are three key differences compared to Found’s competition:
- Pioneer Status and Clinical Excellence: “As one of the first companies to offer comprehensive telehealth weight care, we’ve built an unmatched foundation of clinical expertise. Every member works with board-certified clinicians specialized in obesity medicine, supported by dedicated health coaches and a comprehensive care team.”
- True Personalization: “We recognize that weight care isn’t one-size-fits-all. Our proprietary MetabolicPrint technology analyzes each member’s unique biology, history, and habits to inform truly personalized treatment plans. This goes beyond just prescribing medication –we provide comprehensive support that addresses all aspects of weight management.
- Access and Affordability: “Found has built the largest insurance-covered weight care platform in the country. Rather than creating workarounds that keep care expensive and exclusive, we’re working within the healthcare system to make quality weight care accessible to everyone who needs it. Starting at $17/month when a member uses insurance for their medical care, we’re making comprehensive care available at a fraction of the cost of traditional weight care programs.”
Dr. Kumar emphasized that Found treats weight care as healthcare, not a quick fix: “We’re actively working to change how the healthcare system approaches weight management, advocating for earlier intervention and challenging the stigmas that often prevent people from seeking the care they need.”
