I’m so full I can’t move…or sleep, thought Stephanie Dunne, 49, as she lay awake in bed hours after finishing dinner.

GLP-1 inhibitor medications, like Ozempic and Mounjaro, work by slowing “gastric emptying,” which is the speed at which food leaves the stomach. This helps you feel full for a longer time and also helps your body avoid sugar spikes. However, GI issues, including bloat, gas and nausea, are commonly reported side effects

 The good news? A study published in BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine found that peppermint oil, which is found in peppermint tea, significantly improved symptoms of bloat by relaxing gastrointestinal muscles, breaking down gas and reducing bowel irritation with its anti-inflammatory properties. Peppermint tea has also been proven to relieve nausea. Simply sip a warm cup of tea (without sugar) after meals or when symptoms occur.
