These Celebrity-Made Candy Mosaics Are Mesmerizing

Dylan’s Candy, a candy store that houses more than 7,000 confections, geared up for Halloween with a philanthropic, star-studded benefit. On its 16th anniversary, Dylan Lauren, Ralph Lauren’s daughter and the founder of Dylan’s Candy, hosted a “Sweet Sixteen” anniversary bash at the company’s flagship store New York City. And, to make the event even more memorable, Lauren asked 22 celebrities who work in fashion, art, and film, to create mosaics out of her candy.

The mosaics were auctioned off on the night of the party, with the proceeds going to a charity of each celebrity’s choice, including the Elton John AIDS Foundation, World Childhood Foundation, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

“My mission for Dylan’s Candy Bar has been to merge art, fashion, and pop culture with candy,” Lauren told Vogue. “I never thought of candy as just something to eat. As the daughter of Ralph Lauren and as an art history major, I was inspired to use colorful candy as a medium to craft and design.”

    Let's start with the Candy Queen, Dylan Lauren. This stunning masterpiece was made with more than 50 types of candy, including M&M's, Jelly Beans, and Sixlets from Dylan's Candy Bar's “Color Your World.”

    If Dylan is the Candy Queen, then Martha Stewart is the Flower Queen. This colorful piece is consists of M&M's, Jelly Beans, Licorice Wheels, Licorice, Gummy Berries, Gummy Bears, Sour Patch Kids, Orange Slices, Rock Candy, Gummy Worms, and candy wrapper foil.

  4. Katie Couric

    Journalist and author Katie Couric created a motivating remake of Rosie the Riveter using M&M's, Jelly Beans, Sixlets, chocolate covered sunflower seeds, and a Gummy Lip.

    Actress and founder of The Honest Company Jessica Alba created this mosaic (inspired by an Honest Company diaper print) using Jelly Beans and Gummy Bears.

    Benefiting the Children's Health Fund, award-winning actress and author Julianne Moore, recreated the heroine from her bestselling book Freckleface Strawberry using Pearls, Sixlets, and Jelly Beans.
