And though that’s an adjective you likely haven’t used for foods before, there is something heroic about his list. Compiled through research done in Okinawa, Japan, Costa Rica, and the Greek island Ikaria where people live longer lives on average, the list’s brilliance is in its simplicity. You won’t find hard-to-locate items like spirulina or acai berries on his list, and you can probably find all of his “hero” foods at your local grocery store. In fact, they’re almost all affordable foods you can eat every day.
