Fourth Wing lovers, this one’s for you! If you’ve ever dreamed of seeing what Basgiath War College, Tairn and Andarna look like, we have some exciting news! Rebecca Yarros has confirmed that a Fourth Wing graphic novel is on its way and it sounds just as magical and whimsical as readers imagined. Below we share everything we know thus far about the Fourth Wing graphic novel, including when readers can expect to pick up a copy.
What we know so far about the ‘Fourth Wing’ graphic novel
In March 2025, Yarros took to Instagram to let her readers know that a Fourth Wing graphic novel was on the way.
“I’m thrilled to announce the Graphic Novel Adaptation of Fourth Wing! This is what I’ve been working on between novels and it’s been such a fun challenge to learn a new format of visual storytelling,” Yarros wrote in the announcement. “I can’t wait to bring you back to Basgiath in a whole new, even more accessible way!”
The announcement came just two months after the release of Onyx Storm, the latest installment in the series, and it was met with excitement from fans.

“I can’t wait to see the art for these books. It’s going to be beautiful I’m sure,” one reader commented.
“Just take my money Rebecca!” commented another.
Other readers were curious what the “accessible” part of the graphic novel would be. One even asked, “What is the audience for the graphic novel? I am hoping that my daughter might be able to read these. She is too young for these novels.”
Currently, the graphic novel is believed to be centered around the first three books in the series—Fourth Wing, Iron Flame and Onyx Storm—but since Yarros has revealed that she is currently working on the untitled fourth book, there is a chance that installment could be included as well.
“There is something so special about seeing your words come to life through art, and I feel fortunate to have that experience in this medium,” Yarros told The Bookseller. “I can’t wait to dig in with the talented team of artists and editors to create a truly one-of-a-kind experience for readers.”
‘Fourth Wing’ graphic novel release date
As of publication, the Fourth Wing graphic novel does not have an official release date, but online forums dedicated to the series have said it is expected to come out sometime in 2027.
Yarros herself hasn’t confirmed if that’s true, but she did take to Instagram in November 2025 to share that she was done with draft 2 of the book.
“I can’t wait to talk about how fun this process has been, and how exhilarating it is to watch this little dream world of mine come to life through art,” Yarros wrote in the post. “I’m so excited to get my office cleaned up from this deadline and have five glorious, uninterrupted months at the desk!”

Following that post, Yarros took to Instagram to announce another Fourth Wing book. She said it wasn’t at all related to the graphic novel, but she did tease that readers would love whatever it was.
“Surprise has been the goal, but I can’t sit here silently and not tell you how thankful I am for you. How utterly overwhelmed I am by the continuous love this community gives. Please know that I never take your enthusiasm and dedication for granted.” the author wrote. “So, thank you. This one is for you guys. I hope you love it as much as I’ve loved writing it.”
That unnamed book releases in September of this year.
