If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by life’s demands while longing for peace, you’re not alone. Beloved Bible teacher Jennie Allen understands that struggle, and her first-ever 365-day devotional can help.

For the first time in her career as a bestselling author, the IF:Gathering founder is leading readers through a yearlong journey of faith through a daily rhythm of prayers and reflections with When Jesus Is Everything: 365 Days of Faith, Purpose, and Freedom in Christ, coming out October 6, 2026.

Jennie Allen’s heart behind the book

Rather than offering another list of ways to improve yourself, each day’s reading encourages a deeper connection to Christianity and Jesus Christ through honest self-reflection, biblical truth and practical moments of prayer.

As Allen writes, “I am constantly tempted to build my hope on something other than Jesus: on outcomes, approval, control, comfort, success. And every time I do, my soul feels the strain.” She continues, “But the most joy, peace, and steadiness I’ve ever known have come when I let all that fade away, when the noise quiets and, like the old hymn says, the world ‘grows strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.'”

Who is this devotional for?

Whether you’re a follower of Jesus Christ, battling anxiety, feeling distracted by life’s demands or exhausted from trying to hold everything together, Allen wrote this devotional with you in mind. Throughout the yearlong journey, she encourages readers to loosen their grip on the pressures of performance and approval, trust God with what weighs most heavily on their hearts and discover lasting identity, peace and purpose. More than anything, Allen hopes readers will experience God’s deep love in a personal way. As she shares, “My deep, longing prayer for you is that by the end of the year, you will know, without question, that God delights over you.”

An exclusive sneak peek of Jennie Allen’s first 365-day devotional

Each of the book’s 365 daily readings follows a beautifully simple format that makes spending time with God approachable and easy, even if you only have five minutes. Every devotion includes a key Bible verse, Allen’s heartfelt reflection and a closing prayer readers can make their own as they spend time with God. Here, Woman’s World shares an excerpt from the book as a preview of what readers can expect each day:

SLOWING TO HIS PACE

“The fruit of [the Lord’s] righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever.”
ISAIAH 32:17

The world celebrates hustle. Jesus invites rest. We sprint to prove our value, but He simply says, Follow Me. There is a rhythm to life with Him—a pace that restores instead of drains.

I’m coming out of a season of nonstop hustle. When you sense God calling you to do good things for Him, it gets tricky—because ministry can subtly become the goal. But presence is the real goal. And I love how deeply God wants us to understand that.

Today a friend sent me these words that stopped me in my tracks: “Get time away with God. He will renew your strength there with Him—not just so you can do more ministry, but so you can be whole and free.”

That felt like an invitation straight from the Shepherd. Slowing down isn’t stepping away from obedience—it is obedience. Sometimes the holiest thing we can do is say no to something good so we can protect what is sacred.

When we slow down, we discover that God doesn’t drive us forward. He leads us beside quiet waters. He refreshes our souls. Learning His rhythm means trusting that rest isn’t falling behind; it’s staying close. His pace is gentle. His leadership is personal. And His way always leads to wholeness.

PRAY

Shepherd, slow my heart to Your pace. Teach me to prioritize presence over productivity and follow You into true rest.

In a culture that constantly urges us to do more and move faster, we all need quiet moments. Jennie Allen’s When Jesus Is Everything offers a daily invitation to pause, breathe and refocus our hearts through her signature wisdom, biblical insight and heartfelt honesty.
