Kelli Finglass reveals what books she’s reading
During a team leader dinner, Finglass handed the team’s group leaders a copy of Leadership Promises for Every Day: A Daily Devotional by John C. Maxwell, which gives tips and tricks for leading with faith, trust and integrity.
“I’ve had a lot of people ask me about that book,” Finglass says. “It’s a leadership devotional by John Maxwell, and then I had a book called Lead with Your Heart and a Mary Kay, as in Mary Kay Ash Cosmetics book. So, we’ve given all those books to the group leaders, and my hope was that, especially on a devotional that we’d be on the same page and read the same thing every day and share insights and experiences. It didn’t turn out that seamlessly, but nonetheless, I know that they have some good things in their library because of it.”
“You had good plans,” Trammell assures her friend.
Aside from the team’s readings, Finglass did say that she has some other fun books on her bookshelf, one of which is a little memento for her husband of 30 years, Joel Finglass.

“I have a biography on Freddie Mercury, written by a gal named Lesley-Ann Jones, and it’s amazing. And then the books that I mentioned, those are some of my go-tos,” the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders director says. “Everybody’s got a Bible in their drawer. And then I have a Jewish prayer book, because my husband’s Jewish. My bookshelf might surprise you.”
Speaking of Queen, Finglass couldn’t help but mention that their music was perfect for dancing.
“The ’80s were great times for music,” she says with a smile. “We were dancing to Michael Jackson and Madonna and Queen—all that kind of stuff was so much fun. We wore leg warmers, sheer energy pantyhose and the silver egg stuff from the ‘80s.”
Judy Trammell reveals what’s on her bookshelf
Unlike her co-star Finglass, Trammell said that she prefers her books to be in digital form, as opposed to print.
“I do audiobooks,” Trammell says. “I like things that are easy to listen to when I’m driving to work. So, like Colleen Hoover books. Things like that.”

Season 3 of America’s Sweethearts is available to stream on Netflix.
