What to know about the new ‘ACOTAR’ board game

Earlier this year Goliath Games announced a new game called A Court of Thorns and Roses: Fate & Favor Game, inspired by the bestselling book series of the same name.

In the game, players can become a High Lord of one of the seven courts—Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, Day, Dawn and Night. After that, players fight in battles, explore their magical powers and find friends, lovers and even enemies, all while trying to protect their Court. It’s meant for one to seven players—the number of Courts and High Lords in the series—and it features characters and settings from the books.

“Step into the magical world of Prythian in A Court of Thorns and Roses: Fate & Favor Game, where you take on the role of a High Lord and shape your own destiny,” reads the press release obtained by Woman’s World. “Build alliances with iconic characters, spread your influence across the seven courts and navigate shifting loyalties as fate entangles every player at the table. Will you form powerful bonds, outmaneuver your rivals or fall victim to dangerous intrigue? With strategic gameplay, evolving relationships and immersive storytelling, only the player with the greatest influence will rise to power.”

“Featuring story-based gameplay, beautifully illustrated components and three unique editions for fans to collect, the game invites players to forge alliances, navigate shifting loyalties and compete for favor in the world of Prythian,” reads the press release.

When will the new ‘ACOTAR’ board game be released?

A Court of Thorns and Roses: Fate & Favor Game will be released on Tuesday, October 6, three weeks before ACOTAR 6. Currently, the game is only available for pre-order at Target, but readers and players will get an exclusive limited-edition bookmark when they purchase it through the big-box store. There will also be a bookseller exclusive edition of the game, however preorders for that version have not opened yet, and as of publication it’s unclear what that exclusive edition will feature.
