‘The Voice’ Season 28 Winner Aiden Ross Heads Home For A Performance and Raising Cane’s: ‘We Did It Bro’
Aiden Ross went home to Raising Cane’s in College Station, Texas where he reflected on his journey and got some delicious chicken.
If you told six year old Aiden Ross that he would be the winner of the 28th season of The Voice, he might not have believed you. In fact, the now 20-year-old from College Station, Texas is still reeling from his big win in December.
As a member of Team Niall [Horan], Ross put on some spectacular performances with songs like “Love In The Dark” for his Blind Audition and “The Winner Takes It All” during the live finale. And now that he’s won over the entire world with his captivating voice, Ross is returning to his hometown to celebrate with those who have supported him from the very beginning.
Woman’s World had the opportunity to meet Ross at Raising Cane’s in College Station, where the singer was welcomed to celebrate his win with friends, family and fans. But before getting to dig into some chicken, Ross spent time reflecting on his incredible journey on The Voice, worked a “shift” at the restaurant serving fans and put on special performances of his new single, “Love Her Anyway” as well as the song he sang at the Blind Auditions, which changed everything for him.

When asked what it’s been like to be back in his hometown after the experience of filming the show, Ross shared how grateful he is.
“Honestly, it’s so nice to finally have some familiarity again,” he said. “Now we’re here at [Raising] Cane’s, my favorite chicken finger place in the world, and I’m just excited to get some chicken,” Ross said, eyeing The Box Combo— 4 Chicken Fingers, Crinkle-Cut Fries, One Cane’s Sauce, Texas Toast and Coleslaw—on the table in front of him.
Aiden Ross shares Niall’s advice to him

Having a coach like Niall Horan has been especially valuable for a young artist like Ross. Horan knows firsthand what it’s like to enter a high-pressure competition at a young age, having risen to fame on X Factor in 2010 as a member of One Direction. That perspective helped shape the guidance he offered Ross throughout The Voice.
So when Woman’s World asked what advice he would give his younger self if he could go back to the start of his Voice journey, his answer reflected Horan’s mentorship.
“I think the advice I would give myself was something that I learned after the Battle round and also something that Niall had just told me time and time again: just have fun,” Ross explained. “The Blinds [audition]—I’m so glad that people were, like, ‘Wow, you look so confident on stage,’ because I wasn’t. I was, but I was so scared… And then Snoop Dogg turned his chair and I was, like, ‘Snoop Dogg’s a real person. All these people are actually real people.’ And then I kind of lost it for a second. I think I would tell myself to just be grounded and love what I’m doing.”
‘The Voice’ was always a dream for Ross

Not everyone gets to live out a dream they’ve had since childhood—but Aiden Ross has done exactly that. A fan of The Voice since it premiered in 2011, Ross began watching the show at age six, imagining what it might be like to one day stand on that stage. That dream became reality during the show’s 28th season, when he finally did just that. And when asked what he would say to that six-year-old version of himself, Ross shared a heartfelt message shaped by the journey that brought him there.
“I would literally just say, ‘We did it, bro,’” Ross shared. “It’s so crazy to see yourself on TV, especially on a show that I’ve dreamed of being on but never even truly believed that I would be on. To have been on the show, to have won the show, is such a full circle moment for me.”
