Billy Joel Cancels All Upcoming Tour Dates After Health Diagnosis: ‘Grateful For the Support’
The Piano Man won't be playing anytime soon as he's canceled all of his upcoming tour dates
The Piano Man is taking a break from his keys, at least for a little while. Billy Joel has officially cancelled all of his upcoming tour dates after previously rescheduling only a few. The singer has also revealed a health diagnosis he received which is behind all of this called normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), which has caused issues with his hearing, vision and balance and has been made worse by performing.
Joel has been advised by doctors to halt all performances until he can recover enough from his physical therapy. A press release about the situation shared that he is “thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritizing his health. He is grateful for the support from fans during this time and looks forward to the day when he can once again take the stage.”
The music icon previously rescheduled multiple tour dates, moving eight dates to later in the year.
Joel shared the initial announcement to his Instagram, which shared more details on the happenings. The statement read, “Billy Joel’s upcoming concert dates will be rescheduled due to a medical condition. The current tour will be postponed for four months to allow him to recover from recent surgery and to undergo physical therapy under the supervision of his doctors. Joel is expected to make a full recovery. The tour will resume at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on July 5, 2025.”
There was also a bit from Joel himself, where he apologized for the change but explained that he must prioritize his health.
“While I regret postponing any shows, my health must come first,” Joel wrote. “I look forward to getting back on stage and sharing the joy of live music with our amazing fans. Thank you for your understanding.”
