While plot details are currently under wraps, fans can anticipate something special taking place at the iconic Nashville venue. The movie is set to premiere during the network’s annual Countdown to Christmas event and is said to feature both iconic locations, as well as “familiar faces from the Opry’s star-studded cast, with artists to be announced at a later date.” Do you have any guesses?
Brad Paisley’s Hallmark connection
Brad Paisley will play a big role in the Hallmark family this holiday season, as he’s set to both write original music for the film, as well as perform. And that’s not all—the 52-year-old “Whiskey Lullaby” singer is also the mastermind behind this year’s Countdown to Christmas official anthem. “The Hallmark Channel to me is a major part of finding the joy and the spirit of the holidays,” Paisley said in a press release. “We turn it on and leave it on in our house like Christmas tree lights or decorations, it’s a major part of the atmosphere for us. I loved the challenge of creating that same magic with this music by letting it take you to the same place that these movies and this world Hallmark has built. Can’t wait for you to hear what all we’ve done. Also, knowing the Opry is the setting for one of these movies is very inspiring.”
Paisley has had something of a connection to the network for quite some time, as his wife, actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley, has acted in several films on the channel such as The Christmas Train (2017) and A Nashville Christmas Carol (2020). Her sister, Ashley Williams, is also a prominent actress on the channel, and the two have even acted alongside each other in the Sister Swap films.

Set to start production later this month, A Grand Ole Opry Christmas will star Hallmark icons Nikki DeLoach and Kristoffer Polaha, who have long been shining on the network in films across many genres.
