Inside Brad Paisley and Kimberly Williams-Paisley’s Love Story: Big Screen Crush to Forever Love
The country superstar and movie darling have been married since 2003
Many are likely to remember the way that Kimberly Williams-Paisley broke the heart of her father, played by Steve Martin, in the 1991 classic Father of the Bride. While her nuptials in the film made for one of the most comforting movies to come out of the 90s, did you know that in real life, the actress is married to country music superstar Brad Paisley? As she hosts the current season of Farmer Wants a Wife, read all about the loving marriage between Kimberly Williams-Paisley and Brad Paisley.
How Brad Paisley first fell for Kimberly Williams
Imagine this: It’s 1991 and you’re on a date catching a cute new flick in theaters, Father of the Bride, when the lead actress catches your eye. That’s exactly what happened when Brad Paisley saw the film all those years ago. Fast forward a few years and a freshly dumped Paisley headed to theaters by himself to see the second film when Kimberly caught his eye yet again.

“I thought, she seems like a great girl—smart and funny and all those things that are so hard to find,” he told Good Housekeeping in 2007. Some time later, Paisley cast Williams in the music video for his song “I’m Gonna Miss Her” off of his 2001 album Part II, and sparks certainly flew between the actress and the country music star. In a 2018 interview with Good Morning America, Williams-Paisley detailed the early stages of her relationship, hilariously saying Brad “stalked” her.
“Isn’t that romantic? And it could have ended in jail or marriage, and I was like, ‘Alright, I’ll marry you,’” she joked, referring to their origin story in which he was taken by her on the big screen. “Seven years after they broke up, he was like, ‘I think maybe I’ll call that girl that was in that movie.’” And the rest is history! In 2003, Brad and Kimberly made things official and tied the knot.

Do Brad Paisley and Kimberly Williams-Paisley have kids?
Brad and Kimberly are mom and dad to two kids, William “Huck” Huckleberry, 17, and Jasper Warren, 15, and parenthood is a gig that the both of them not only love, but do well. Despite having two famous parents, Brad and Kimberly have taught their kids the value of working hard. “Not once have we been in a toy store and I’ve said, ‘Yeah, I’ll get you that,’” Paisley told PEOPLE in 2020. “We try to make them understand that nothing is free and they have to earn things.”
And the work they’ve put in raising their two boys has certainly paid off, as the two of them are growing into fine young men. In 2022, Kimberly suddenly lost the use of her voice and wouldn’t be able to speak above a whisper for two years. The partial paralysis of her left vocal cord has since been corrected, but when she needed it most, both her husband and superstar kiddos stepped in for her.
“My kids were great cheerleaders for me,” she told PEOPLE in 2024. “At an event, they knew if someone I wanted to talk to was walking away and I couldn’t get them, and they’d get them for me. They’re used to assisting me, which is really sweet.”

Brad and Kimberly have lots of love for one another
The care and affection that Brad Paisley and his wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley have for one another runs deep, and we can’t help but root for this adorable duo. “We both have very healthy senses of humor. Anything I take myself too seriously on, she will gladly cut me down to size on and destroy all pre-conceived notions that I’m cool in any way,” Paisley joked with The Boot in 2023. “You’ve got to have similar outlooks and really healthy senses of humor. Pretension should be completely gone in a marriage. Actually, it should be gone before you get married!”
