Private Presley Graceland Tours Honoring Elvis’ U.S. Army Service to Take Place Memorial Day Weekend

The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll is remembered and beloved for his smash hits like “Burning Love” and “Jailhouse Rock,” as well as from his successful acting career where he starred in films such as Blue Hawaii (1961) and Viva Las Vegas (1964). But now is the time for Elvis’ army career to shine, as Graceland is offering a look into his time in the service. 

Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley, is giving fans the opportunity to see the mansion and property during what will be called Private Presley Graceland Tours. Folks will be able to explore the legend’s home over Memorial Day weekend while learning more about his time in the army. This will be the first time a tour like this is offered. 

When will the Graceland tours honoring Elvis’ military service take place? 

This exciting peak into Elvis’ life at the time is only available for a short time over Memorial Day weekend later this year, so make sure to get your tickets. The tours will be offered from Friday, May 23, until Monday, May 26. They will also only take place between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., except on May 24, as they will be from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.

What does the private Presley tour include?

Graceland is offering an exclusive look at all things Elvis during these special tours, so if you have your ticket, you’ll get to see some exciting aspects of the King’s life. Attendees will get a tour of Graceland Mansion, featuring live tour guides sharing stories of the singer’s time in the army.

There will also be a self-guided portion of Elvis’ two custom jets and full access to Elvis Presley’s Memphis Entertainment Complex. This includes: 

  • Presley Motors Automobile Museum
  • Elvis: The Entertainer Career Museum featuring newly-refreshed Dress to Rock Exhibit
  • Private Presley Exhibit (a display of photos, videos and additional artifacts, including Elvis’ Army fatigues, dress uniforms, Army foot locker, suitcases, etc.)
  • 90 for 90 Exhibit 
  • ICONS: The Influence of Elvis Presley Exhibit
  • Lisa Marie: Growing Up Presley Exhibit

How much is a private Presley tour?

If you’ve been wanting to explore Graceland and get a glimpse into the life of Elvis, but don’t want to break the bank, don’t worry—the Private Presley tours are reasonably priced. Plus, if you were a member of the military, you can score a discount on your ticket.

Regular tickets begin at $84 for adults (ages 11 and up), $48 for youth under age 11, and free for children under age 4.

The military discount of 6 percent is offered to Active and retired U.S. military, U.S. law enforcement officers and firefighters. Plus, the discount is good for up to six individuals. All that’s needed is a government issued active or retired Military ID to score the lower price.

These lower prices start at $79 for adults (ages 11 and up), $45 for youth under age 11 and free for kids under 4.

Be sure to arrive on time for your tour as they will only take place between the allotted time. There will be no rainchecks, as tickets are non-refundable and only valid for the date purchased.
