Nearly 30 years after the end of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, co-stars Jane Seymour and Joe Lando are still the closest of friends. But their on-screen chemistry, as Seymour puts it, “just shows up and sizzles…it’s absolutely amazing.”

Seymour and Lando famously portrayed the couple Dr. Michaela Quinn and Byron Sully from 1993 to 1998. Now, the former on-screen flames are reuniting in the hit Acorn TV mystery series, Harry Wild.

Seymour has been starring as the main character, Harry Wild, since 2022 and as Season 5 approaches, so does her on-screen reunion with Lando.

It’s like we never stopped,” Seymour said of their acting together again. “The chemistry is on fire. The two of us, we just know how to work together. I’m so excited. He’s fantastic on the show.”

Lando is set to star as Pierce Kennedy on Season 5 Harry Wild, which premieres on June 22, 2026. Pierce is described as a “charming and handsome natural ally for Harry.”

Of course, this isn’t the first time the former on-screen pair have worked together since the finale of Dr. Quinn. Seymour and Lando came back together for a Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman movie in 1999 and another in 2001.

Years later, the two starred in the Lifetime holiday movie, A Christmas Spark, where their on-screen flame was reignited. And thanks to the chemistry they’ve built over the years, fans are sure to enjoy this Harry Wild reunion.

While their on-screen chemistry is off the charts, as both stars have confirmed, their behind-the-scenes banter and friendship is just as good. In fact, when Seymour and Lando began filming the western series, they considered giving a real relationship a go.

So, we did the pilot, and we were both single at the time, and somehow, for some obscure reason, we thought that Michaela and Sully, Joe and Jane—” Lando interjected, “They would work in real life.” Seymour continued, “We quickly found out we didn’t. We work brilliantly on screen. We work brilliantly as best friends. We work brilliantly as people who adore and love one another…We can’t be married, or anything like that. No. But we tried. A week, a couple of weeks?”

Even though their short-lived attempt at romance didn’t last, the two found a platonic bond in one another and were able to create a strong chemistry that works both on and off-screen.

“The good news is we know what that is, so we don’t just know about acting with one another,” Seymour explained. “It is so rare to have the kind of chemistry that even when we’re arguing with one another, it’s still there. I mean, it’s absolutely amazing. You either have it or you don’t.”

Lando added, “I knew that there was a reason for this person to be in my life,” he says. “I didn’t know it would be forever… It continues to be a gift that keeps on giving.”

Will there be a ‘Dr. Quinn’ reboot?

Both Jane Seymour and Joe Lando are wondering the same thing you are: Will there ever be a reboot of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman? The stars are in and would love to reprise their beloved characters, but as of now, nothing is in the works. Seymour shared some insight on the question back in 2023, explaining it wasn’t of interest to the higher ups.

We’ve actually got one written, and we’ve got the whole series planned out,” Seymour said then. “We just took it to one of the networks, and they said that they weren’t interested in Westerns. I think it’s really crazy. There seems to be a lot of very successful Westerns, so I didn’t get that at all.”

So, while you won’t be seeing Michaela Quinn and Byron Sully coming together anytime soon, you can still catch Seymour and Lando on Harry Wild, premiering on June 22!
