Marcus Scribner may play a single police officer on Boston Blue, but in real life the actor is preparing for marriage. Scribner recently revealed he is engaged during an appearance on the daytime talk show Sherri, hosted by Sherri Shepherd.

Yes, you should be congratulating me,” Scribner said when Shepherd asked if he was engaged. “I am engaged to be married sometime this year. We’re keeping it a little bit low key.”

He chose to keep the details of his engagement and his fiancée private but he did open up about the wedding planning process.

“I’m stressing about invites right now,” Scribner revealed. “Like cutting down the list and everything is stressing me out.”

While Shepherd made a joke about Scribner inviting her to the wedding, she did say that she opted not to invite children to either of her own weddings. Scribner agreed with the notion, although he added his 3-year-old brother will be the ring bearer. “He’s the only kid who’s going to be at the wedding,” he explained.

Scribner first shared about his engagement in an Instagram post on September 10, 2025. The actor posted a photo dump with the caption “life 🥰,” accompanied by an image of his fiancée’s new ring.

Before he was Boston Blue’s Jonah Silver, Scribner was a beloved member of multiple TV series. In 2014, a 14-year-old Scribner joined the cast of Black-ish as Andre Johnson Jr. The actor starred alongside Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross, Miles Brown and Marsai Martin.

Black-ish has been an amazing experience and I love every single episode that we’ve been able to complete together,” Scribner shared about his time on the show. “It kind of feels surreal, you never think this is going to happen as an actor, then you just kind of get lucky and here we are.”

Following the end of the series in 2022, he joined the show’s spinoff, Grown-ish, where he reprised his role as Andre.

“What I loved so much about Black-ish and Grown-ish [is]we obviously talk about the issues that we face in our community, but we can also just have a good time,” Scribner revealed in an interview.

In between his time as a series regular on both shows, the actor held other roles as well, having voiced the character of Bow on She-Ra and the Princesses of Power from 2018-2020 as well as D’Angelo Baker on Dragons: The Nine Realms from 2021-2023.

Nowadays, the actor is patrolling the streets of Boston as a new police officer. Scribner joined the cast of the Blue Bloods spinoff and has since been solving crimes alongside Donnie Wahlberg as Danny Reagan and Sonequa Martin-Green as Lena Silver.

I see in Jonah a lot of a younger Danny Reagan,” Scribner shared of his character. “Somebody who’s willing to put themselves on the line and not care about what happens in the end or caring about what happens in the end, but that the bad guy goes away and that people are safe no matter what that means, even if it means breaking a couple of rules.”

You can catch Marcus Scribner in new episodes of Boston Blue every Friday at 10 PM ET/PT on CBS or the next day on Parmount+!
