Last night, just a few moments after kicking off her concert at Denver’s Ball Arena, Megan Moroney had to make the tough call to postpone her show, sending thousands of fans home for the night. The decision didn’t come easy to the singer, and while it hasn’t been revealed exactly what ailment she’s suffering, it seems as though her performance of those first three tracks weren’t up to her standards. In a video shared to TikTok by an attendee at the show, Megan addressed the crowd, sounding noticeably hoarse.

“This is obviously the last thing I would want to do, but I am obviously extremely sick, and I thought I did everything to make myself better but then obviously, two songs in, I just can’t play this show tonight.” She continued, “I will make it up to you guys. I absolutely promise I’ll be back. Y’all will be able to come, but I want to give you guys the show you deserve. And I’m probably going to go cry in my dressing room now. I’m sorry.”

Visibly upset on stage but met with the support and cheers of her fans in the audience, Megan stated, “This is like my worst nightmare. I promise I’ll make it up to you guys ten times and I love you and I’m really sorry.”

Despite Megan’s disappointment, many commended her in the comments of the post. “She’s a real one for making the announcement herself instead of having someone on her team come out. Feel better soon Megan!,” wrote one user. “So much respect for Meg for coming out herself! You can see how torn up she is about it. Good for her for taking some time to rest,” shared another.

Megan Moroney addresses her fans

In a post shared to her Instagram story, Megan addressed her departure from the show, writing, “Denver—That was the hardest decision I ever had to make and I’m so sorry to cancel the show tonight. I never ever will give you guys a show that’s not 100% and by song three I knew that I was not capable of giving that to you tonight. I’m typing this as I‘m quite literally bawling my eyes out in my dressing room and it hurts me so much to disappoint you all. I will be back August 27, and all tickets purchased for tonight’s show will be honored for the new date. If you can’t make the rescheduled date, refunds are available at the point of purchase. I’ve never had to do this and I’m truly so sorry. I love you guys.”

Mark your calendars for August 27, Denver—Megan Moroney will be back, and if her heartfelt promise is any indication, it’s going to be a show worth the wait.
