In 1995, Robin Williams, Bonnie Hunt, Kirsten Dunst and Bradley Pierce took viewers on the adventure of a lifetime in Jumanji. Two young children stumble upon a decades-old board game in the attic of their new home, only for it to release a man named Alan Parrish—who had been trapped within the game as a boy—as well as an entire series of unexpected threats ranging from elephants and monkeys to super-sized mosquitoes.

Regardless of how you remember this film (it either thrilled you or scarred you!), the cast that brought it to life was stellar, and in the wake of Robin Williams’ tragic passing in 2014, it’s a movie we love to look back on as we remember the beloved actor’s talent and charm. Recently, a video began circulating Reddit showing a few behind-the-scenes clips and bloopers from the film, and it’s pure nostalgia! Take a walk down memory lane as we look back on Jumanji and the character Robin Williams brought to life on screen.

‘Jumanji’ bloopers and behind-the-scenes footage with Robin Williams

In the viral Reddit video, fans got an up-close look at the clips and shots that never made it to the big screen. In a few of the scenes included, we got to see how great an improviser Robin Williams was. From his deadpan delivery to his off-the-cuff responses to the scenes he acted in, it’s a true marvel to see him in action! In one scene shown in the video, Williams goes up against a pelican in a hilarious stand-off as he attempts to scare the animal away. “Nothing like a full face of halibut breath,” he remarks when the bird first hisses at him. “Nothing like day-old clams,” he responds in another take as he goes head-to-head with the bird. Just as hilarious as his improvised lines is his physical comedy, as the actor is seen flapping his arms and getting in the bird’s face.

In another scene, young Peter gets transformed into a monkey, and Williams’ reaction to seeing his new look is simply hilarious. “So hormones kicked in early, didn’t they?,” he asks in one take. The video continues with a handful of other hilarious responses, such as, “We’ll pick up a razor on the way out,” “Is it a full moon or is something happening to him?,” “What aisle in the Nair in?,” “When did he become Curious George?” and “Someone dipped him in Minoxidil.”

Williams’ antics when the cameras were rolling were a true testament to his skills as an actor and comedian, able to make magic on the spot—and fans in the comments of this Reddit thread have shown nothing but love for the late actor, who died of suicide at the age of 63. “This isn’t just bloopers! It’s alternative takes, deleted scenes and ROBIN WILLIAMS IMPROVISING!! Soooo good. Even his outtakes show him being hilarious AND brilliant acting. What a genius,” wrote one user. “I hear there are eight hours of bloopers for Mrs. Doubtfire. Robin was just riffing most of the time. What I would give to see that footage!,” raved another fan. “Thirty years later and Robin’s bloopers still feel like pure joy bottled up. He made chaos look magical,” wrote another.
