Brittany Snow as Sophie O’Neil
Brittany Snow is a 39-year-old actress best known for her work in American Dream (2002 to 2005), John Tucker Must Die (2006), Hairspray (2007), Pitch Perfect (2012), Someone Great (2019) and Murdaugh: Death in the Family (2025). In The Hunting Wives, she plays Sophie O’Neil, a newcomer to East Texas, who finds herself wrapped up in scandal and enamored with the gun-toting group of women known as “The Hunting Wives.”
“It’s been so surreal. We didn’t think anyone was going to see it because it was originally for another network [Starz], and we were just having fun. So to see the response has been so humbling and crazy,” Snow told The Hollywood Reporter earlier this year. “But what’s really been nice for us is that people have responded to the shock of it all. Here’s two women—I’m in my late thirties, Malin’s [Akerman] in her forties—and we’re doing things that are a little over the top and not necessarily seen [on TV], and people are feeling powerful because of that. The things I get choked up about and respond most to are people saying they feel represented, especially in the queer community. I feel like our job as actors is to make people feel like they’re being seen.”
Malin Akerman as Margo Banks
Malin Akerman is a Swedish American actress whose credits include 27 Dresses (2008), The Proposal (2009), Couples Retreat (2009), Trophy Wife (2013 to 2014), Children’s Hospital (2010 to 2016), Billions (2016 to 2019) and The Christmas Classic (2023). In The Hunting Wives, she plays the enigmatic Margo Banks, a rich woman who befriends Sophie after she moves to town.
“Margo is complicated,” Akerman told Today earlier this year. “She has many, many nuances, and I think sometimes she is truly in love with Sophie, but I think it’s hard for someone like Margo to really come out of her narcissism because she is her No. 1. And she takes care of No. 1. So she will easily throw anyone under the bus if that means that she will survive.”
Jaime Ray Newman as Callie
Most people know actress Jaime Ray Newman from her work in General Hospital (2001 to 2003), Catch Me If You Can (2002), Veronica Mars (2006 to 2007), Mind Games (2014) and The Time Traveler’s Wife (2022). She plays Callie, one of Margo’s friends, in The Hunting Wives.
“I love that woman [Akerman]. She is a wild, feet planted on the ground, tremendous actress who is game for anything,” Newman told AOL earlier this year. “Obviously, she’s gorgeous, but she’s incredibly intelligent, a very deep actress, very interested in script analysis, very interested in how to make the best show we possibly can.”
Dermot Mulroney as Jed Banks
Dermot Mulroney is an actor best known for My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997), Young Guns (1998), Friends (2003), The Wedding Date (2005) August: Osage County (2013) and Anyone But You (2023). He has also been in several Hallmark movies. In The Hunting Wives, Mulroney plays Jed Banks, Margo’s husband.
“It’s so wonderful to see how the show came to life the way it did.” Mulroney told Woman’s World earlier this year. “I haven’t seen a script for season 2, but we’re getting after it right away so we can further explore some more of Jed Banks’ b–ls–t and maybe some more of his darker side. So I know there’s a lot in store for even my character alone, but can you imagine what people are out there cooking up for what’s going to happen in season 2? I can’t wait to find out and bring it out to the world.”
John Stamos as Chase Brylan
Have mercy! Full House star John Stamos is joining the Hunting Wives season 2! He will play Chase Brylan, and his character’s role in the secret-filled plotline has yet to be shared. Stamos’ wife even weighed in on this exciting casting news, asking the actor how deeply he would “commit” to the role.
“I told my wife [Caitlin McHugh] I was doing it, and she said, ‘Are you going to show your p-n-s?'” Stamos told Today. “”I said, ‘I don’t think so,’ but it’s one of those shows.”
Stamos’ other titles include General Hospital (1982 to 1992), Full House (1987 to 1995), ER (2005 to 2009) and Fuller House (2016 to 2020). He is 62 and has one child.
