The Reagan family bond never dies and yet another Blue Bloods star is here to prove that. Will Estes, who starred on the hit CBS drama as Jamie Reagan, the youngest of the Reagan siblings—after Joe, Erin (Bridget Moynahan) and Danny (Donnie Wahlberg)—is set to appear in an upcoming episode of its spinoff series, Boston Blue.

Although the details of his appearance are currently under wraps, the fan-favorite character’s return was confirmed by his on-screen brother, Wahlberg, who shared the news via his Instagram story.

Over a photo of Estes, Wahlberg and his Boston Blue co-stars Sonequa Martin-Green (Lena Silver), Marcus Scribner (Jonah Silver) and Mika Amonsen (Sean Reagan), Wahlberg wrote, “Welcome (back) to the family! Jamie Reagan! AKA Will Estes!” The photo featured the five actors gathered around a small table with a film crew in the background, hinting that an episode was being filmed.

Estes isn’t the first of the Reagan’s to make an appearance on the sequel series. In Season 1, fans got to see the return of Moynahan as Erin Reagan, Len Cariou as Grandpa Henry Reagan and Marisa Ramirez as Maria Baez. So with Estes’ arrival, it may not be the end of appearances from Blue Bloods cast members.

For those who were loyal viewers of Blue Bloods, which ran from 2010 until 2024, you may remember Jamie Reagan and his story. The series introduced the character following his graduation from the Police Academy. Jamie was about to embark on his career in the NYPD after switching from law, despite having already graduated from Harvard Law.

Throughout Blue Bloods, Jamie worked his way up through the ranks, beginning as a rookie cop and eventually becoming a Sergeant detective in the field intelligence unit. By the end of the series, Jamie was successful in the NYPD and married to his former partner, Eddie Janko (Vanessa Ray) and the two were expecting their first child together.

The characters were mentioned in a Season 1 episode of Boston Blue, with the reveal that their son, Joey (Joe) Francis Reagan, had been born. He was named after Jamie’s eldest brother Joe, who was deceased prior to the start of Blue Bloods, with the middle name coming from his father, Francis “Frank” Reagan.
