Inside Dolly Parton’s Tennessee properties: A quick guide to her homes
Brentwood, Tennessee home
While Dolly Parton is the owner of more than one home, the singer currently resides at her stunning estate in Brentwood, Tennessee. Called the Willow Lake estate, Dolly purchased the home with her late husband, Carl Dean, in 1999. The couple spent $400,000 on the 63-acre property, which is located about 10 miles south of downtown Nashville.
Although many celebrities prefer homes in Hollywood, Dolly and her husband bought the Brentwood home with privacy and farm functionality in mind. The main house is 3,324 square feet and has a yellow entryway, spacious kitchen, living area, music room, a reading nook and a sunroom to name a few.
On the property surrounding the home, you can find a pool, a tennis court, a private chapel and multiple barns. Carl Dean, who spent much of his time out of the spotlight, would tend to the land around their home and maintain the fields.

A Nashville bungalow
Before Dolly and Carl Dean’s move to Brentwood, the couple owned a not-so-small bungalow in Nashville, Tennessee. Having grown up in the state, it’s no surprise that Dolly remained there for most of her life. In 1980, the two purchased a 1941, two-story home that was 4,795 square feet and rested on 2.4 acres of land.
In 2019, the home had four bedrooms, three bathrooms and living space in the primary and guest house. There is also a shed that Parton added onto the land that remains intact with the original wallpaper she chose. After 16 years in the home, Dolly and Carl sold it for $140,000, plus $5,000 for the furnishings.

Red Top
Red Top is a home formerly owned by her parents, which Dolly helped them purchase in 1984. The unique nickname comes from the red metal roof of the house, which resides on a 62-acre farm. After her parents passed in 2003, Dolly became the full owner of the home before selling it to a family friend. The home later became a wedding and event venue in 2022 after the fires in Sevierville and offered a free space to brides and grooms whose venues burned down between April and May 2022. The home remained a functioning venue until 2024, but has since been closed.
Idyllwild cabin
A bit different from their stunning estate in Brentwood, Dolly and Carl previously resided in a cozy cabin in Southern California. The three-bedroom home is a 1,800 square-foot property with three stories and cost the singer $126,000. After they left the home, Dolly donated it to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California. It’s said that everything Dolly left behind is still intact.
Hollywood home
Despite Hollywood never being Dolly’s true home, she did live in West Hollywood for a period of time when she needed to be there for work. Although it was in California, Dolly’s country roots truly shined through the decor. The singer owned a two-bedroom, two-bathroom, 1,091 square-foot space, which she purchased in 2007 for $1.2 million. Though it wasn’t a primary residence, she did stay there occasionally until she sold it in 2014.
