6 ‘Supernatural’ Stars Who Fell in Love Off-Screen—and Are Still Together
They played hunters and angels on screen—but found lasting love behind the scenes
If you were a fan of Supernatural over the years, then there’s a decent chance you were heavily invested in the relationships on screen—but what about off screen? While they say not to mix business and romance, a few of our favorite Supernatural actors actually found love on the set of the show! Here, read all about the real-life love stories of stars like Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
Jensen and Danneel Ackles (2007—Present)

Jensen Ackles tied the knot back in 2010, but the duo were together long before that, first linking up around 2007 after working together on the film Ten Inch Hero. The couple shared the screen when she appeared on an episode of Supernatural, but aside from their work in television together, she’s had a successful acting career herself, known for her roles in shows like One Tree Hill. The couple have welcomed two daughters and a son, and life together is full of bliss for the Ackles crew.
“I’ve got a really, really quiet, peaceful life,” Ackles recently told People. “When I go home, I’m home. I’m not Jensen the actor. I’m Jensen the husband, the dad, the friend, the brother, the son. I think having that stability in my personal life has really given me a good grounding, a good foundation for what I do.”
Jared and Genevieve Padalecki (2008—Present)

Supernatural star Jared Padalecki actually met his wife on the set of the show back in 2008! Though he was immediately taken by her, he spent some time getting to know his future wife for a few months before they went on their first date—and the rest is history. The couple tied the knot in 2010 and have since welcomed two sons and a daughter. The couple have also continued acting alongside each other here and there, with Genevieve playing Jared’s wife on his hit show Walker.
“Marriage is the best and most amazing adventure in the world,” Genevieve told City Lifestyle. “And like farming, there are some good seasons and not so great ones. Marriage takes a lot of love and nurturing. Throughout our lives we change and evolve into many different people. So, in a partnership, you’re both constantly growing and it’s impossible to always grow together, whether in parallel lines or intertwined at the same time.”
Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Hilarie Burton (2009—Present)

Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Hilarie Burton have both brought iconic characters to life on television, but it was Jeffrey’s Supernatural co-star, Jensen Ackles, that set the duo up on their first blind date. A year after getting together, they welcomed their first child followed by another in 2018. In 2019, the couple officially got married after spending years building their life together and this adorable duo are couple goals for sure.
“Obviously communication is a very big deal and also anticipating that your partner is going to go through phases and changes,” Hilarie told E! News about her keys to a healthy marriage. “We both have gone through different professional phases where maybe we’re super ambitious in one phase of our life, and then we’re nesting in another phase of our life. And we try to work in tandem so that we’re each compensating for each other.”
Mark Sheppard and Sarah Louise Sheppard (2014—Present)

Mark Sheppard linked up with Sarah Louise Fudge shortly after he split with his former wife, Jessica, with whom he shared two children. He and Sarah got engaged in 2015 and got married later that year. Since then, they’ve welcomed a daughter.
Ruth Connell and Rob Benedict (2020—Present)

Ruth Connell and Rob Benedict, both actors who appeared in Supernatural, fell in love when the cameras weren’t rolling and in 2024, Rob got down on one knee! In January, shortly after their engagement, they welcomed a baby girl together.
