Dallas Transformed Into NYC for Taylor Sheridan’s ‘The Madison’ Season 2—All About It
NYPD cars & yellow cabs lined Texas streets as Michelle Pfeiffer's new show films season 2!
Taylor Sheridan and his team have given Texas the Big Apple treatment! Earlier this week, downtown Dallas was totally transformed to resemble New York City, as folks gathered to film one of Sheridan’s newest series, The Madison. As reported by The Dallas Morning News, NYPD patrol cars and yellow taxis lined the streets, turning this southern city into a whole new world. Though not much has been revealed about the first season of The Madison, the outlet revealed that this recent filming was for the show’s second season.
Between the evening and early hours of the morning, Dallas’ Main Street and Ervay Street were blocked off for filming, and between the vehicles exclusive to New York City, the signage and overall vibe, residents got a glimpse of life in the East Coast city—even if only for a few hours. This is not the first time the Yellowstone creator has shut down parts of Texas, as the television mastermind has been seen all around the Lone Star State over the last few months filming for the countless shows he’s bringing to life. However, with The Madison already filming its second season despite no solid word on the status of season 1, many are left wondering what’s to come.

When does ‘The Madison’ come out?
At this time, there is no release date for the first season of The Madison. The cast includes a wide range of television and film heavy hitters, including Michelle Pfeiffer, Patrick J. Adams, Matthew Fox, Kurt Russell, Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman and more. The series will follow a wealthy family from New York City who relocate to Montana’s Madison River Valley after a tragedy. While it isn’t quite clear how this story might connect to Yellowstone other than the fact that it will take place in Montana, we can’t wait to see what’s in store. Additionally, with filming of the second season underway in Texas and the scenery looking a whole lot like New York City, it also leads us to question how strong the ties are to the family’s old life.

“It’s such a different story,” director Christina Alexandra Voros told Variety regarding the connection between both shows. “The common ground is the landscape. We are in Montana, but it is seen through a completely different lens, so it feels like another facet of this cut stone that has been polished. There are parallels in the scope of landscape and a human being’s place in that space, but it’s coming at it from a completely different point of view.”
We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more Madison updates as production continues—and we can’t wait to see how this Texas-to-NYC transformation looks on screen when the show finally premieres! With such an incredible cast, the stunning Montana backdrop and now these intriguing New York City connections, The Madison is shaping up to be one of Taylor Sheridan’s most ambitious projects yet.
