Everyone knows that Chip and Joanna Gaines are royalty in the real estate world. From hit TV shows to cookbooks and even a magazine, they truly are a perfect example of what it means to be a classic Southern American family. And because of all of that, it makes total sense that they would own several different homes and houses. From castles to silos, they truly have it all, and below we take you inside all of them while uncovering what secrets are hidden within.

Chip and Joanna’s primary residence is a 1,700-square-foot house located in Crawford, Texas. It has 40 acres of land and like so many other homes they have bought, it was indeed a fixer-upper and was even showcased on Season 1 of their show of the same name.

“Our home sweet home,” Joanna, 47, wrote on Instagram in 2015.

It is believed that the couple still lives there with their family, despite owning and redoing several other houses in Texas.

If you wanna live just like Chip and Joanna, we recommend visiting Magnolia Market in Waco, Texas. It is home to a coffee shop, bakery, several home decor stores and, of course, the two beloved silos.

“When we bought the Silos property in 2015, we could have imagined what it would grow into. Today, this little corner of Waco, Texas, is the heartbeat of Magnolia,” Chip and Joanna wrote on their website. “The things we value most as a company come together here. Family and friends are celebrated. Food is savored. Beauty is pursued. And home is at the center of it all. Whether you’re a local or visiting us for the first time, we hope you enjoy all our town has to offer.”

Fun fact: Woman’s World Editor Carissa Mosness has visited Magnolia Market and the silos and had so much fun! She also claims that the cupcake she had there was one of the best she’s ever had.

Chip and Joanna Gaines’ renovated castle in Waco

In 2019, Chip and Joanna purchased a castle in Waco, Texas, named Cottonland Castle. They then fixed it up on a spinoff show entitled Fixer Upper: The Castle and were all set to sell it, but then decided against it. It is now open for tours, which you can learn more about here

“During the renovation process, we repeatedly returned to the castle’s roots—studying the German castle that inspired its original design and finding ways to restore those stunning details,” Joanna said, per Elle Decor. “While we completely reenvisioned some parts of the castle and gave others a new purpose, in the end the goal was to make it a home again—blending past and present, beauty and functionality, sophistication and charm.”

The stylish lake house from ‘Fixer Upper’

Another home that Chip and Joanna flipped on national television was their 5,100-square-foot lake house, which was the focal point of their 2024 limited series Fixer Upper: The Lakehouse.

“Inside and out, the lake house nods to mid-century style with minimalist, clean lines and a low-pitched roof, as well as Spanish Revival influence with arches and natural materials. Throughout the home, the furniture, millwork, color palette and finishes were all chosen to reflect the ‘60s era in which it was built,” reads a description of the home on their website, Magnolia. “Warm-toned paneling, terrazzo flooring, plastered texture, rich terracotta and earthy green hues all come together to create an approach that’s equal parts fresh and familiar.”

Sadly, though, Chip and Joanna did sell their lake house after fixing it up. We just wish we had bought it!
