Rear Window is considered by many to be one of the greatest films of all time, and with good reason. Alfred Hitchcock’s 1954 thriller, which stars Jimmy Stewart as a photojournalist who believes he witnesses a murder in the apartment across from his while laid up with a broken leg and Grace Kelly as model girlfriend, has influenced countless films in the seven decades since it came out, thanks to its clever single-location premise and brilliant camerawork.
Hitchcock called Rear Window the “most cinematic” film he ever made, and it’s hard to imagine how he was able to capture all of the movie’s paranoia and voyeurism while shooting in one small space.
